@warhippy. So a B prospect, top 4 d and a 1th overall is too much for a RNH? lol you overvalue shinkaruk. also our prospect pool would be upgraded as we would have a true elite prospect which is something we do not have atm. shinkaruk is not a huge loss. sidenote: I am saying reinhart is RNH caliber.

@Forsberg lol taev is the young player ready to step in, shinkaruk is a prospect in the deal and the 6th is the pick. I've heard more insiders say that they believe van and fla make a deal rather than florida keeping the pick so how is it 70% chance that it doesn't move? -

@swift4grizz for a potential first line center that doesn't come around everday. We can easily find skilled top 9 forwards. we can't easily find a 1st line center. I am a huge fan of Jensen but if he had to go the other way to get reinhart I say go for it. They want Shinkaruk so I say with no doubt in my mind we should go for it. -

yes. plus we already have 5 NHL D who will be around for 8+ years. we have time to re stock on that side of the game but are really hurting on forwords especially with who can take sedins spot in 3-5 years.... that's why benning sees that we need reinhart so bad.

Steven Stamkos- 1.72 ppg. RNH- 1.536 PPG. Taylor Hall- 1.86 PPG. J. Huberdeau- 1.56 PPG. Sam Reinhart- 1.75 PPG. Reinhart is in pretty good company here... are you guys seriously not willing to give the asking price to florida (which isn't even that bad) for a player who is in this company? reallly?

guys shinkaruk was drafted 24th overall is our 4th best prospect and had a year development taken away from him due to injury.... why would you be shocked to see him go? this trade is to upgrade our future. we have no potential franchise players. Sam gives us a chance at one and if all it costs us is our 4th best prospect, our 6th overall pick (who would just be Ritchie anyways. not a huge loss) and a roster player that is probably Hansen then we should take that deal and run.

@Warhippy never said anything about murray. However I will admit to mantha. but lets be honest he has had 2 killer years and brings size to the table. he will be an nhl player. reason I believe reinhart has proved himself is because he has put numbers up in the same category as Tavares. PPG wise. That's pretty impressive. Shinkaruk didn't even come close and he is small and he had a hip injury that will affect his potential.

lol @ people saying shinkaruk will be a star in this league. he has proved nothing. I like him as a prospect but he will turn out to be a top 6 players that's about it. he has a higher chance of busting than he does at being a star.

@He-Lord. He was also passed over by 24 other teams. For all we know he could have other issues surrounding him. people who know him say he has a bad attitude. He could be putting on an act for the camera and be a complete cancer out side of the view of fans. Like I said he dropped from like 15 to 24th. there is something wrong with him and benning might see it and not like it. I would feel much more comfortable developing Reinhart rather than taking a chance on shinkaruk.

Shinkaruk has a very strong possibility of being a bust. I do this anyday of the week. Either Shinkaruk, 6th overall, Hansen or shinkaruk, 6th overall, Burrows (cap dump).

I really hope the jb didn't actually reject this trade...... that would be a really bad move. Its a good trade for both teams.

@ spotted Zebra some compare the two and its not a bad comparison. Its really hard to compare him to others though we have to wait and see. I know lots compare him to Tavares. Game style, not how good he will be. -

Benning wants a youngish top 6 player coming back with a prospect and apick. My suggestion is Berglund, rattie, 3rd round pick for kesler
