  1. Linkin Park fans are hurting today.

      Rest in peace.

I don't know Linkin Park's music, but I have the Stone Temple Pilots' EP with Chester, and he definitely had a great voice.

Yeah I was never anything close to a fan. But I know a lot of people liked them, so seems like a fairly big deal.

Being a musician he very much inspired my voice when I was becoming a teen. I didn't like their sound as much after 2004 but there is no denying Chester Bennington is one of the best rock vocalists ever. I am pretty crushed today although I had some internal anger at him for the way he lashed at his "nu metal" fans wanting older style LP to come back. I guess we are all battling our own demons no matter how we look on the outside. RIP I will always remember his influence and talent.

  2. Welcome to hell, Andres Nilsson.

Nilsson is being talked about as one of the better FA goalies out there.  Clubs are hoping that he turned the corner last year as a late-blooming netminder.  He's worth a 1-2 year contract in order to find out.

I like him. .923 sv% isn't easy to do in Buffalo right now. Puts some pressure on Markstrom as well, as either could be our starter.

I do not care for Markstrom so I hope this guy blows right on by him on the depth chart.

  3. A lot of people are already expecting another delay coming. RDR is the best game I've ever played — despite the unparalleled unlikability of Jack Marsten (work ya damn nag!)
  4. Star player playoff ending injuries is the new thing everywhere.

  5. King Woman's new album is a droney, doomed sounding affair. I like it a lot. The lead singer/songwriter Kristina Esfandiari is rad as hell. Her solo project Miserable is also quite good (prefer those heavy tones played at a calmer volume, creates more atmosphere for my ears). Other than that, I was playing early Death and Kreator last week and enjoying both immensely. Some crusty ol' Buzzoven, too. Bleed the Pigs is another current favorite.
  6. Now this I can get into. Thanks for the memories, Burrows. Game 7 goal against Chicago will never be forgotten. Give 'em hell in Ottawa.
  7. Age has nothing to do with anything in MMA. Sanchez is 5-7 since 09 and he coasts off being an original Ultimate Fighter. All of the original UF guys have been put to bed because when they lose, it's frightening for their long-term future when they lose. Josh Koscheck looked like he was dying in his last UFC fight. Sanchez looks so punch drunk and I am a fan but I think he's years beyond his time. What's truly sad is that after the UFC finally releases him he will go to Bellator and continue to destroy his post-career by fighting for paydays.
  8. No big MMA fans on this forum, that's cool. I bet the Sandman is pissed that Paul Heyman approved Brock Lesnar using Enter Sandman as his theme.
  9. Also, UFC needs to force Diego Sanchez into retirement. I believe he's the last of the original Ultimate Fighters. But he had no business being in that cage and is perma punch drunk as hell.
  10. The prelims were very fun, I agree. Main card has been trash.
  11. Ugh. This main PPV card has been awful besides the Cain fight. Edgar looked like he was training to fight the Aldo who was knocked out in 13 seconds. Silva would absolutely have defeated Cormier if he could keep the fight standing up (Cormier is such a boring fighter and was going to get beaten by Jones so he must be pleased by the payday + being undisputed champion).
  12. Um, is anybody following this lunacy that is occurring in the opening day of free agency in the NBA? Example: Mike Conley (a second-tier point guard on his best day) just signed the richest contract in the history of the NBA to remain a member of the Memphis Grizzlies. That is a five-year contract for a total of $153 million dollars. I do not care if the NBA has this absurd salary cap this is pure absurdity and a very sad day for the NBA. What a joke.
  13. I see everybody lamenting this contract as quickly as a year from now.
  14. I'm sure the lovely cynics on this thread will give the selection a D or an F.
  15. See how calm and proactive higgyfan was about the player he was hoping would fall to the Canucks at #24 getting selected by another team? Did he yell, or troll, or set fire to Jake Virtanen's parents house for raising a kid with an injured shoulder? No he did not.
  16. From the looks of your dubious contributions to this thread, you don't get a lot things.
