Amazing! Such important work. I worked with autistic children for a year and a half and it was difficult at times but SO fulfilling. They are incredible! I actually took a bunch of them to the LA game where we clobbered them 5-0 (I think). Wasn't sure how it would go as it's a very stimulating atmosphere...however, it was a huge success! A great memory for me.

It's really great when sports teams use their platform to support well deserving organizations. Sadly, our school for severely autistic kids closed due to funding shortfalls...the parents were distraught. The Gov't doesn't always "get" how important it is to offer services for these children and that it saves them $$ in the long run to provide support for them. The issue was the various Ministries don't like to "share" projects/funding. So you're either deemed Mental Health OR Education...can't be both. Which is ridiculous. They don't like to work together to meet demands it seems. Some of the kids were forced back into the public system, which is horrifying for the ones not yet ready for that. Was a sad day when we shut down.
