  1. Wonder why Martin Hugo Has has dropped, hopefully the Canucks can get him with a 6th round pick
  2. Great pick!! Don't be scared of the Russian factor! He will light it up right away, 2022 rookie of the year, book it
  3. I just mentioned this in the other thread, the tweet says " a 2020 1st" not Canucks 2020 1st. JB could have another deal for another 2020 1st from a cap strapped team. Then the lower of the 2 goes to Col, also JB may be able to get Burakovsky from Washington for hopefully cheap. Who would essentially be Jake's replacement but a bit ahead.
  4. Hmmm well as it says " a 2020 1st" not Canucks 2020 1st, maybe JB has a deal for another teams 2020 1st that would complete this deal, so they give Col the lowest of the 1st's... It could be decent especially if JB can get Burakovsky from Washington for next to nothing who would then be Jake's replacement
  5. The Canucks are in good shape to weaponize their cap space and get a good player or two from some of the cap strapped teams like T.O, Tampa, Vegas. Kapanen would be a good fit with Bo, and could be had for a good price depending on how the Canucks use their own cap space. If the Canucks are willing to help facilitate a trade of Marleau by retaining 50% of his salary while he gets go to a team of his choosing ie: LA, Colo, Ari then Kapanen could possibly be had for Goldbin alone. This would give theeafs what they really need 6.3 mil in cap space, whatever picks they get from the team Marleau is traded to, plus a useful cheap player in Goldobin who could put up 30 to 35 points for them while coming in around a 1 mil for a yr or 2. Also , if the Leafs do not get good offers for Zaitsev Canucks could help them out further by trading for him, what that would take not sure but again it may not be much. Zaitsev is actually fairly good defensively.
  6. Lucic unfortunately does have to be protected as the expansion draft will be before the amateur draft which both will take place before the end of June 2021. NHL new seasons start July 1st, with the beginning of Ufa signings. Also his contract as of 21/22 season is M-ntc, nmc.. meaning he still has a no movement even though he has to provide a limited amount of teams that he can be traded to. The only way that he wont be protected if traded for is if he agrees to wave that portion of his contract and make it any form of an ntc
  7. Zegras, Broberg, Soderstrom and Boldy should be there at 10, my choices in that order.. Too bad Broberg isn't a RD, otherwise I'd have him as my first choice but with is elite speed and hockey IQ he could be taught to play the right side as a lefty as many Dmen do...
  8. me too... damn also don't want the Rags.. but id take either rangers and devils one two
  9. Those numbers look right for him. Anywhere in that ball park is very good for both player and team!
  10. Gilman is still upset that Benning and Co. let him go. I think Gudbranson may be looking around the 5 million mark, however a contract comparable is what Karl Alzner received, around the 4.625 mil for around 4 or 5 years. By the time that contract is done he will still be relatively young around 30 and still command a hefty salary.
  11. Dahlen with the OT winner today as Timraa beat Pantern 3 - 2 I think that is his 5g and 9p in 8 games so far. Canucks prospects are coming through again today with the two Swedes JD and EP involved in their teams winning goals !! Its nice to see our prospects performing so well and relied on by their teams in crucial moments!!
  12. He definitely is a player to look at in the 2019 class. From what I've read and seen from scouts, the 2018 class is deep but 2019 and 2020 are suppose to be deeper than 2018 class.
  13. Yea Ohlund did show up at an unfortunate time and that eye injury slowed him down some as you mentioned just as the team was starting to play better. As to OJ I agree completely, he will be playing with a team in his age and competing for a cup .. I'm really looking forward to watching this new Canucks group.
  14. I remember a defenceman the Canucks drafted in the 1st round in '94, everyone was eager and had little patience for him to come over. He played the following 4 years in the SHL developing and when he finally came over in '98 he turned out to be a very special player, some here may remember Mattias Ohlund. I think OJ will be a similar player to MO and all that is required is a little time and patience.
  15. Correct his UFA is August 15 2017 he reads CDC and wants no part of this sensational irrational If he doesn't sign and goes back to B.C. I can see him signing next year with Anaheim, LA or even SJ. I think that is what he may be gauging, where he may play the earliest and have the most success. I for one believe he signs with the Canucks by end of April
  16. those are some very impressive numbers!! especially for a rookie!! Good on them for beating B.C and good on JB in drafting this kid in the 5th round.
  17. ^^ don't know much about his play.. he started the season slow but picked it up the second half of the season.. so far has 11g 18a for 29 pts in 39 games that's with this game so far.. not bad for a rookie season
  18. Adam so far with a goal and assist against Demko and B.C, 2nd period.....
