How about instead of getting rid of a player who's value is at his lowest, they coach him to his full potential. Did you not watch him his first couple years in the league? He was incredible. You have to let your best players have a bad year here and there, or you'll be trading great players every year. Imagine trading Mackinnon after his 38 point season, or marchand after his 42pts. Or even Henrik sedin, who had 42 points in his 4th nhl season, and he hadn't even show us a great season yet. Maybe i'm just crazy for seeing so much potential in him.

[Report] Sharks claim Jonah Gadjovich off waivers
Penskih replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Did pretty well against some tough players. Still annoyed we lost him for nothing. -
60-70 points. I know he hasn't been good, but i'm not worried. We've all seen what he's capable of when he's on his game. I think he finds his groove after 20-25 games. He's missed a ton of time the past couple years, have to be patient.

[Signing] Stars re-sign Miro Heiskanen
Penskih replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I get that Heiskanen is a better overall defender than Hughes, but offensively Hughes has put up .75 pts/game in his career, compared to only .46 for Heiskanen. Although they were both just under pt/game in the playoffs last year. Not sure why people need to put down Hughes to bring up Heiskanen. They're both great players and play different roles. -
Jets lost to the canucks also and were 3-9 in their last 12 before the playoffs. I never expected the Oilers to win the cup i just figured they could win a round. I guess we'll see. Weren't they 7-2 vs the jets in the regular season too? I'm glad the Jets are winning though, aside from the $15 i put on the Oilers.

[Signing] Wild re-sign Ryan Hartman
Penskih replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
My favourite Hartman clip, what a dive. Still a pretty nice deal though, he's having a good year. -
You think? He may put it together in Florida but I don't think he ever would have in Calgary. They got good value for a player who needed a change of scenery. Like if we traded Virtanen and he turned out to be a great player, I would not regret the trade because he wouldn't have figured it out in Vancouver

[Report] Joachim Blichfeld suspended 2 games
Penskih replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Could have easily hit him on the side, instead he hit mostly head. Not sure why everyone seems confused. Easy suspension in my opinion. -
Safe to say Hughes is on the same level as Dahlin now?
Penskih replied to cuporbust's topic in Canucks Talk
I havent watched Dahlin but so far he's been pretty comparable to hughes defensively no? Just based on stats, they're both bottom 5 for +/- in the league this year, with similar +/- last year. Canucks also give up more goals/game than buffalo for the past two years. Seems like Dahlin has had a bit of a slow start this year, im sure he'll pick up eventually. -
[Rumour] Blues shopping Vince Dunn
