I heard Brzustewicz has other interests other than hockey, he likes a lot of different sports. Apparently he wants to get into sports media (I think?), and that may have concerned some GMs about his focus and hockey goals. Their loss, Brzu is going to be good. I saw a mock draft not long ago with him being in the 1st round. Probably end up being a better NHLer than ASP.

I'd love it if Podz and Klimovich both came to camp in killer shape and earned a spot. And if the Canucks managed to trade Garland and Beauvillier, they might have enough size/grit to really challenge when push comes to shove. I was at the scrimmage and I thought Willander and Pettersson were both very good. The Canucks D future is looking pretty bright, and D wins championships. Benson would've been a fun pick, being so skilled and a local kid, but if the Canucks took Benson...dang, their D prospects would still be pretty bad. As difficult as it probably was to pass on certain players, they picked the right guy.

According to this thread, they've been exploring a Myers trade since February 2022. That was a tough sell back then, with Myers making $6m a season. I think they should keep Myers, pay him his $5m bonus in September, his salary would then be a million for the season. Cheap. Hughes - Cole Soucy - Hronek Irwin - Myers Hirose - Woo The 2024 TDL is when they should trade Myers. Other teams are desperate to add depth, enough to give them the edge in the playoffs. Myers is a big RD and cheap, other teams will be lining up. Maybe Woo gets a bunch of games in down the stretch. Crafty Allvin should get a nice return.

Bruce would be a real good coach for a minor league or youth team, bright-eyed kids who needs a nice guy coach who supports and encourages them. Not a good NHL coach anymore though, IMO. I couldn't take him seriously if I was a millionaire pro, cheering on wrestlers

I was at the scrimmage yesterday, really fast-paced, intense. Just wild sitting behind the bench watching Willander and Pettersson discuss their next shift, etc. Several players looked really good: Bloom, Lekkerimaki, Willander, Sasson Zlodeyev, Jurmo, McWard were all very good IMO, and I liked what I saw from Forsell, Mueller, Alriksson and Celebrini. As far as the practice facility, yeah, they need an upgrade big time. They'll get there.

IMO, the only good bands mentioned were Rush and the Chili Peppers

I think the Canucks are planning for playoffs this year. These guys do not help them with that.

Not sure where I saw it, but there was a rumour about Canucks possibly offer sheeting an RFA, and Bouchard's name was mentioned. Grain of salt. But I mean, I wouldn't hate it Hughes - Bouchard Soucy - Hronek Cole - Myers Hirose Trade Myers at the 2024 TDL, he'll be worth a lot seeing as he'll only be making a million next season.

"Gave away" the 1st and 2nd - just recently Haven't really seen Hronek play much yet. I get the angst, but this just requires a little patience. This might be a good question a year from now. Give Hronek a chance.

Nylander to the Rangers just seems like a possibility. Rangers always seem to be in on the big names and somehow be able to afford these high profile players.

Been wondering what the plan is to round out the roster. Canucks have too many wingers, so they could be working on a trade. 8 Wingers on opening day: Kuzmenko - Beauvillier Mikheyev - Boeser Hoglander - Joshua Pearson - Podkolzin - Pearson gets a chance, if not, DiGiuseppe Garland could be the one on the move. I'm assuming Studnicka and Dries will be waived/traded. Really hoping they can trade Garland and Myers for a RD partner for Hughes. So curious if there's something in the works.

Interesting that Hirose was once a forward who switched to D, just like Willander. Maybe the Canucks are onto something.
