  1. Is it possible for a player to fake an injury? (fool the Drs etc) I find the timing of Miller's "injury" to be a wild coincidence, during trade deadline week. I know he loves it in VAN and is confident he's staying. Or is he really hurt?
  2. Bloom looks like a pretty good player in development. Already has good size, skates well, nice shot, point-a-game producer. Does he join Abby next season? This trade also clears cap space. Canucks might be up to something big. Do they feel some confidence going with Wolanin and Brisebois on the left side? Is OEL and Dermott back soon?
  3. Guy is a prospect, not even in the AHL yet. And trading a D for a forward? Pretty decent numbers though, so here's hoping one day.
  4. Demko-Sliovs the new goalie tandem moving forward? I find it funny, during the off season I predicted that Demko-Martin would win the William Jennings this year, and I placed a $20 bet in Vegas on the Canucks winning the Cup. Oh, good times.
  5. Yeah, not a good interview, maybe he has difficulty answering questions in English. As long as he does his job on the ice, and if not, trade him and move on. He only cost VAN Will Lockwood. Sounds like he knows a few guys on the team, would be amazing if they all started to gel.
  6. Canucks needs: Bedard Fantilli Carlsson Benson Smith Yager Sale Sandin-Pellikka Reinbacher Dvorsky Moore Cristall Don't really need RW or LD
  7. Not sure this is true, Fantilli may be the only one to challenge. Michkov is a Small Russian Winger. Is that 3 red flags? Michkov might be very skilled, but is his game transferable to the NHL? He could be a very dynamic player though, and fit in well with Pettersson, Podkolzon, Raty and Kravtsov in 3-4 years maybe. Are these the tiers? Bedard Fantilli Carlsson Michkov Smith Benson Yager Sale Dvorsky Barlow Moore Sandin-Pellikka Leonard Cristall
  8. Well, Miller is out week-to-week, so I'm assuming he will not be traded at the TDL.
  9. If this is a trade with Sandin or Liljegren coming back to VAN, then giddy-up. I like the idea of taking TOR's best prospect.
  10. Kerfoot is bad, and 28-years old. Why would the Canucks want him? Fine. Poolman for Kerfoot, then let Kerfoot walk after this season.
  11. It's difficult to know who to trust with the Miller rumours. One "expert" is saying there's other teams interested and Miller could be moved before Friday, and then Dhaliwal is saying Miller has an injury, and Miller himself said he's confident he's not being moved. I think Miller might be banged up, but he's also going to sit out because a trade may happen in the next few days. Sure, he'll be out a week, but probably good to go by Saturday with his new team. Or maybe this is all BS and Miller isn't going anywhere
  12. BOS is the best team and added Orlov and Hathaway NJ is going to be a fierce competitor and added Meier TB is always good and just added Jeannot Forget TOR, they're already done. What will CAR do to keep up? They have the cap space. to CAR - Miller and Rathbone to VAN - Kotkaniemi and Morrow (please)
  13. Allright, so...when's Boeser going? Have to say, I like Brock, but he looks miserable. Not even the same player. The Flo is no mo. Sounds like his agent is working hard trying to get him to MIN, so I'm curious what that deal would look like.
  14. The Sharks are going for the aggressive retool. Even if it is a late 1st this year, it's a deep Draft. And another (cond) 1st next year. Plus Muk and Zetterlund are nice adds. Devils gave up a lot IMO, but they have the assets. The East is going to be very tough with BOS, CAR, TB and NJ.
  15. VAN has to get better at drafting, and here's hoping Lekkerimaki and (D) Pettersson work out and become good NHL players. Looking at the current roster, there are 5 players (below) on the team who were drafted by the Canucks (6 if you now count Silovs) Pettersson Podkolzin Boeser Hughes Demko This year's 1st Round (both picks) and the 2nd have to really count. The Canucks could use another Top 6 Forward (LW and C) and a RD. Givens are: Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, Michkov and Benson. I'd be happy with: VAN 1st (right-shot C or LW) - Smith, Sale or Yager NYI 1st - (right-shot D) - Sandin-Pellikka or Reinbacher VAN 2nd - (right-shot D) - Dragicevic or Strbak
  16. Jeannot would be perfect on Petey's line, he's only 25 Jeannot - Pettersson - Beauvillier Let the slighter guys work their magic If TB is in on Jeannot, hopefully there's a 3-way? to TB - Schenn to NSH - Foote to VAN - Jeannot (maybe mid/late picks are added)
  17. Looking at 24 years old and under in the system and the three early picks that could benefit the Canucks most - assuming the Canucks don't get into the Top 5. (1) BENSON/SALE - Pettersson - Lekkerimaki Podkolzin - Raty - Kravtsov Hoglander* - Aman - Karlsson ? - Studnicka - Klimovich Hughes - (1b) REINBACHER/SANDIN-PELLIKKA Stillman - (2) BONK/DRAGICEVIC Rathbone* - Woo Pettersson - Johansson Jurmo - ? Silovs * could be traded soon
  18. This is great news. Now we don't have to hear anymore about how he should be the coach in VAN.
  19. That's a pretty grim outlook. Kravtsov might do well under Tocchet and playing with the right players.
  20. IMO (RD) Sandin Pellikka is the best D in the Draft and will go Top 10. Kind of a toss-up who would be 2nd best (my guess): (RD) Reinbacher (LD) Simashev (LD) Gulyeyev (RD) Allen (RD) Bonk (LD) Price
  21. Liking what JR/PA are doing here, bringing in some good young players to form that new young core. Miller may be the exception, unless they trade him too? Kuzmenko, Mikheyev and Beauvillier are also nice players to have around, entering their prime. Pettersson Podkolzin Raty Kravtsov Hughes Bear Sure would love to add Bedard or Fantilli to that list.
