Bear is wearing his #74, so I wonder if Kravtsov will wear #47? (Juulsen's number) or maybe #7? (Lockwood's old number)

a 23-year old, 6' 3" 186 lb RW (top 10 draft pick in 2018) I like this a lot. He never got much of a chance in NY, but he will in VAN. This is the kind of reclamation project I like. Similar to Raty, who was also considered a top 10 pick (but ended up dropping). Maybe we'll end up seeing eventually: Podkolzin - Raty - Kravtsov Get them developing together.

[Waivers] Kasperi Kapanen, Kevin Gravel

He'll be 27 in July = will be too old But...If VAN could trade Boeser (25% retained) to PIT for Kapanen and a 3rd (NJ's) (2023)? Boeser has 2 more season at $6.65 Kapanen has 1 more season at $3.2 Kapanen could turn his career around playing in VAN and if not, he'll only be around one season. Freeing up more cap space. Beauvillier - Pettersson - Kuzmenko Garland - Miller - Kapanen Podkolzin - Raty Edit - Raty would also have a fellow FIN around (Kapanen), and vice versa -

Let's hope he learned his lesson -
Dvorsky sounds like a Canucks pick, but maybe it's not so bad. He's got some decent size, good shot and can skate well. (NHL in 1-2 years?) Walking away with Dvorsky and Reinbacher in the 1st round would be alright, assuming VAN doesn't get into the Top 3.

[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at St. Louis Blues | Feb. 23, 2023
Nucker 67 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Always nice to beat Binnington, but... Horvat (Beauvillier's been good, though) Pearson Mikheyev Lazar OEL Schenn Dermott Demko ...have all been off this team (some for a long time), but the Canucks are still winning games. Time to make more trades. Get that Boeser to MIN trade done already. -
[Rumour] Canucks Getting Calls on Luke Schenn
Nucker 67 replied to Warhippy's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Thinking TOR must be freaking out these days, their window closing fast. Matthews could be gone after next season, unless they convince him to stay for $15 million a season Without a really solid D core, they're going to struggle to beat teams like TB and BOS. The Leafs are desperate. JR could really make them overpay for Schenn's services. -
Introducing our First Nations Celebration jersey!

Now THAT's a nice jersey, I'd be sold if they went with this crest full time (using the black/yellow/red jerseys). Really sharp and I love the nod to Odjick. -
[Rumour] Canucks Getting Calls on Luke Schenn

So, when is this trade happening? The Twits (those who use Twitter) making it sound like it's practically done. Imagining Boston and Toronto fighting it out to get Schenn on their team. Meanwhile, Luke is having a nice little vacay with the fam. Probably won't even be traded -
[Proposal] Nucks/Capitals - Bear Hughes
Nucker 67 replied to Hake Virtanen's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
They could could throw Hughes, Bear and Hughes out in OT and the play-by-play guy would have a fit. -
I have confidence in this management team. Looking at who they let go and who they brought in so far (players), they have done quite a bit, and they are younger. Kuzmenko has been a revelation. They got him and re-signed him. The Horvat trade was bold and it's looking pretty good so far. It'll look even better if the Canucks draft a really good prospect with the NYI 1st. Beauvillier seems to mesh really well with Petey and if Raty works out, bonus! There's still a lot of work to do. Contracts have to expire/bought out and players traded. I think the off season will be busy, and Tocchet will hold a tough training camp. They'll be ready for Game 1 (unlike this season) As for drafting, I love the DElias Pettersson pick and I'm going to be patient with Lekkerimaki. He's still a kid and still needs to develop/learn/get stronger. Can't wait for the 2023 Draft, will be a boost to the prospect pool.

I think OEL and Myers have stalled the Canucks bringing in better D, so VAN has tried to compensate by bringing in younger, cheaper Ds wanting to prove themselves in Bear, Dermott and Stillman. It's Benning's fault for trading for OEL. Everyone knew this would happen, except him I guess. Everyone was just so excited they traded LEriksson it didn't register right away the burden they took on. I think it sunk in with me when ARI selected Guenther, and then OEL sucked. I suspect Myers will be either traded or bought out in the off season. That should help create cap space to bring in a better RD. As for OEL, who knows, could be another LEriksson.

Does this open the floodgates for more trades? Maybe OTT clearing cap to go after Chychrun or dare I say Myers? (oh wait, didn't Myers already nix a trade earlier to OTT?) OTT has a lot of cap space ($18?), so I'm wondering what they're up to. Maybe they're going to trade for Schenn....and Miller They could use a veteran C, take some of the load off Giroux.
