The point is that unless you are a superstar, like Bertuzzi was, being on your off wing causes you more problems defensively than it solves. The difference is that maybe Todd would cost you a goal, but he was more than likely going to score you a couple as well. Theres been numerous example of Jake not making the right play defensively even playing his proper side. He's going to be stapled to the bench if that happens. Maybe he should play LW but once he shows he's capable

I think you just proved his point? That line was one of the most dominant in hockey and didn't need to be good defensively. Bert especially was a pylon

Watching that goal, I understand people don't like comparables but David Booth, pre concussion is a guy who he looks like a clone of. I know that Booth kind of left a sour taste in people's mouths, but in Florida he was arguably one of the faster players in the league, could just destroy guys, and was a straight line North - South player, who would have been a consistant 40 - 60 point man, 30 goal scorer. Creativity was his weakness as it looks like it is with Jake and that's okay.

The thing is the whole partying teenager thing isn't something that is unique to Jake, in fact I'd say most players do it. It's how seriously they take the other things that will help or hurt them, and for Jake it's just taking longer it seems

Gaunce had 30 points his first full year in the AHL and Virtanen isn't on pace to break 20 if they play the same amount of games. Is that more accurate than the Blake tweets people want to take offence to?
