  1. How is he a bad communicator? that is also a key to good drafting. Your first response to this post was out of dislike for Benning or you would not have come to assumption it was written to troll those who do not support Benning.
  2. That is an awesome post top marks to nuckfanfromafrica No one is trolling you, sorry for the negative reply, just pissed me off he gave all that work as a troll attempt because you hate Benning.
  3. That would take too much effort, lazy people are also jealous of other peoples efforts. His reaction smells of jealousy.
  4. Yes, agree. There is also the error of the data collected (many people involved in the data process, lots of room for error) and then flawed programming. So many factors.
  5. I think the problem is most complaining are Canuck fans (one team only ), and not actual hockey fans. They only know about the players that face Van and even then they pay little attention to the low key players on those teams. I work with many people like this. The true hockey fan finds the time to watch as many game as possible not just one team. You can tell on here, because how many posted "never heard of him" (he most be terrible). The same as with Garland many here where not quit sure who he was or if had any upside. Then they go to advance stats and say they know the player and he is no good according to the stats.
  6. Never seen or heard anything about concern about his foot speed add a source.
  7. Lets not forget with the added players our forward group are all sound defensively, which make the defensemen jobs easier.
  8. What do you guy make of this list? where does OEL rate (1-17) base on talent and age to money made. https://www.capfriendly.com/browse/active/2022/caphit/all/defense?limits=age-28-37,caphit-6750000-20000000
  9. I have no problem if this the plan, but what if Rathbone is the best D man in camp and pre game play. He has that in him. He was just as good as Fox in College hockey. Fox in one of the Rangers better D man. Just saying, but he will more then likely start in the AHL.
  10. Like the poster above stated too. I can see that working out perfectly for the Canucks. Camp and per season is going to be interesting. Who they invite to the camp, may change things too.
  11. Good read, and why training camp and pre season is so important. There seems to always be someone that steals a spot in the line up.
  12. I could not pass this up: Imm , "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
  13. Good, I am high on Rathbone too. I agree OJ should be playing in the NHL.
  14. I think both OEL and Hughes will be on the first PP. Why take away one of OEL's top traits, he is a beast on the PP. Canucks have many options on the second unit. The puck movement between OEL and Hughes would be world class.
  15. I like Both him and Rathbone, difficult to decided who I would give the job to. They both showed last year they belong. Jouveli has all the traits to be a big mobile top 3 two way defenders with more emphasis on defending. Rathbone has something uniquely special to what he can bring to the game which I think would be hard to find again.
  16. Your right, he going to produce like 5 points and be a minus 100. How dare the Sedins support friends. Do you even think before you post. Our is your hate for: Vancouver, Benning or OEL that high that its makes you look like a fool.
  17. Ok I will play this game: 1) Only his defense has slowed down, factors into why could be: A) Mind was not into games because of his mother passing. b) broken finger. c) Again a mind state: he should not have been given the worry of wearing the "C". d) Coach and him where not a match. 2) Most decline in play show up in declining points not the case here 3) Even all the facts in point 1, he still put up points, why because points come naturally for him. 4) Like the saying goes defense can be learned (OEL case more focus) offense is a gift. 5) Show where his point production has drop off. 6) Content goes a long way in an argument. 7) All the example I gave show that players past 30s can produce just like in their 20s. How they did on defending is another thing.
  18. OEL has not slump in point production. He only admitted to not defending well for the last couple years. This is where your argument is weak. Good on you accepting at least one example though, many example were given.
  19. You keep changing you question and get schooled in hockey history. Your have been answered just admit you did not think about your question before posting. OEL has only fallen short on defending (not by much) his points have been pretty much the same his whole career. Two things with all the players I listed (big proof of 30+ production matching career production) and why they continued to succeed into their 30s: Elite skating and hockey IQ. They had one or two at very high level. OEL has both, not as elite as some, but high in both.
  20. The Sedins, Bergeron, Marchand, Burns... Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Naslund, Koivu, Sakic, Bourque... All the above, had their best years or match their best in their 30s and continue to be good hockey players into their retirements. That just off of the top of my head. OEL Will do the same.
  21. I do not think so. He has had time to come to grips with his Mom passing. His finger should be healed. He will not wear the "C" in Vancouver and a new coach. His is also coming over with a friend in Garland and the Sedins are here. If he spends time with the Twins then you know he is going to be doing something active: Hiking, biking, and or soccer. This could be the best thing he has done in his career, thus his on ice performance could be seasons highs in the next couple years.
  22. Things that affected his play: 1) Death of his Mom (huge for most people) 2) Broken finger 3) Not getting along with his head coach. 4) Not made to wear the "C".
  23. The defence is, was always going to be a point of concern no matter who was signed. Overall they are better than last year on paper, but no one knows how they will play together. I can still remember the year Carolina won the cup, and if you asked someone to name their top defence man most could not answer the question.
  24. It is an almost impossible if, but the only one that would not sign is Petey. If an offer sheet is too high for the Canucks, like 10+ million for 6-8 years. The good of this, a ton of draft picks would be coming back to the Canucks.
  25. Poolman has move upside on the point production side then people are giving him credit for. Look at his overall stats he has produced at every level of hockey, including the NHL. I do not understand why only one year of his play is being considered. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=144209
