LD is stacked with a volume of players. RD is less so. For this reason I think Pouliot plays more and more RD seems he is comfortable on both sides and green seems comfortable playing him on both sides. That frees up a little more room for the Juolevi, Sautner, Hutton group. At the same time there is a very good argument to be made that it will protect more players and maybe help Juolevi more too to start him in Utica next year. I think he would be better served playing 23 mins a night in Utica than playing 3rd pair minutes or pressbox in van. Bring him up when he slots top 4 due to development or injury and let him continue to develop.

I am thinking dahlen & Jasek with Horvat pettersen centering Boeser and baertchi. leipsic & Jake with Gaudette But I don't think they will let the team go that young so not next year.

Not sure I would say we fleeced Ottawa yet Odd. But Dahlen certainly looks like he will catch up and pass the only 25 points Burrows has in Ottawa so far.

what I think you missed was ncaa leading scorer (gaudette) and I think palmu was top rookie scorer this season in liiga too. and demko ahl all star.

And I would guess the options for contracts will open up some when we have expiring contracts come off the books and decisions are made about players that walk or get re-signed.

He has adjusted to and become a meaningful player at every level as he has come up. This year he adjusted to the Czech pro league and worked his way up to the first line becoming about a .5 ppg player for the year. I was musing the other day if he could become a 1 ppg player there next year as he has become that at pretty much every level. But we will see what he can do in Utica now. He is a swift skating 200 foot player who can play well behind the puck (and on the PK) and contribute offensively once he gets acclimated. So expect him to start on the 3rd or 4th line, maybe with Cassels.

I wasn't being down on Pouliot in my Juolevi post. It was 'sometimes Pouliot' because he also plays the right side and I was talking about the left side.

One interesting thing about watching Juolevi next year will be competition. As a LHD on this team we are fairly stacked with ok pros on that side. Edler Hutton MDZ and sometimes Pouliot. At the next level Sautner looks like he needs more opportunity. Then at the next level Brisebois has been developing well on the first pair in Utica. Where ever Juolevi plays next year he will be competing for his spot.

Why would tanev have anything to do with Dahlin? Dahlin may be a LHD but has always played the right side of any game I have seen him in. So would be edler Dahlin maybe Juolevi Tanev At least that is how I understand it.

Madigan can be worried all he wants but reality is that the fan base is going to be thrilled with this kids puck pursuit.

You say all that and the Red Wings call up D Joe Hicketts. All 5 foot 8 177 lbs of him. Honestly this kid is a good comparable for Palmu. You don't push around Hicketts either.

Where do you see Lucas at Sid? One more year at this level too see if he has it figured out now? Then bring him to Utica or cut him loose?

I was thinking Boeser and Petterssen on the opposite half walls (maybe 3/4 walls) with Horvat and Goldobin doing down low and slot movements. Edler at the point but hell yes Dahlin if we are lucky. Then Gaudette Baer Sutter Leipsic and Pouliot on the second PP (maybe Juolevi). At least for next year as I don't think we have Dahlen, Gadj, or Lind next year. And I hope so much we do not have a Gagner, Ericksson, Granlund or Gaunce on the PP.
