  1. He's heavy on the puck and I like that, although his skating is maybe a little heavy as well. A bit frustrated by Green's line juggling, hard for a guy like Pearson to find his role and any chemistry when he's in a constant line blender. I think he has looked really good with EP and Boeser.
  2. Sure is. But with the Norris and all for EK I guess he makes up for it. Been thinking lately that although I never liked the idea of Quinn with Guddy, maybe Schenn would be a cheap and effective partner?
  3. I don't get the hate for LE. Sure, he hasn't delivered offensively and probably won't, but he's an elite defensive forward who never takes a shift off. Ever. Him, Motte and Beagle not only play an important shutdown role, but also gives the rest of the team a good example to follow with constant effort. That's important on a young team.
  4. Dahlin is an 18 year old D... While I agree that EP should win the Calder this year and is a more complete player right now Dahlin is still amazing and a potential franchise D. Btw, you wouldn’t like EK on our team if you can’t stomach a little risk taking on every shift
  5. Yeah I think we tend to underestimate how good he’s been with his history in mind. Truly elite in many games, last one at Vegas included. With that said I’m hoping for a 50/50 split with Demko the rest of the season.
  6. IMO he’s ok as a 4th liner now offensively - and I guess his numbers is in that area as well - but his ceiling is higher, and I think the AHL playoffs would’ve increased his chance of reaching that ceiling. In the NHL so far I think he lacks confidence in the o-zone which limits him. But it’s a moot point now I guess, I agree he will have a solid career no matter what.
  7. I can see the logic in giving AG some rest after the Canucks miss the playoffs, but still feel he’s a borderline nhler offensively and I think he would have benefited from the experience of being the 1C in the AHL playoffs.
  8. I think positioning will be key for him. If he can find a partner that doesn’t get caught out of position, most of the time he doesn’t have to be fast, but just let the game come to him. Really liked his first game here. Solid stay at home D, we need it.
  9. Just like the Sharks gave us Linus Karlsson for a reason, I'd imagine... Doug Wilson is no dummy. I like JB but I really don't see the logic for this trade, but ah well, let's hope it works out for everybody.
  10. Really don't like this trade. I'll admit Dahlen is one of my favourite prospects, so of course I'm biased, but still don't get the rationale behind it. Also - the difference between this trade and say Shinkaruk is that Dahlen is a player the current regime aquired, so any flaws in his game or character falls on them. Time will tell and JB has actually made very few bad trades, but having a hard time with this so far.

  12. Gotta agree with that, he'll think twice before doing that again hopefully and he'll remember #26. No penalty either ;-)
  13. Stecher has no business being on the first PP or playing 25-30 mins on a good team. I think he's ceiling is a very good #5-6D on a contender which the Canucks will be in a few years hopefully. Absolutely nothing wrong with this, if that scenario pans out it's a huge win for both player and club.
  14. EP should win it IF healthy and if he doesn’t get fatigued but for RD to do what he’s done at 18 on D is very impressive.
  15. Hopefully Sven is ok. I actually think he’s been playing well since his return and doesn’t look scared out there.
  16. Winning teams need a mix of skill and grit, you don’t win in the playoffs with grit only, never have. I think Goldy can be effective if he develops a bit defensively and psychically. Wouldn’t mind a third line of Goldy - Gaudette - McEwen in a few years...
  17. I think we can all learn something from Lastname’s dedication and personality.
  18. No matter how you look at it, he’s been real gud.
  19. Thought Sutter had a better game against the Avs. No offense and he's starting to look awfully slow (injury effect?), but still a soilid performance with good positioning, smart plays etc. Still think his days here are numbered, though.
  20. I think it's important for players to have interests outside of hockey. Lastname has that.
  21. It's not in the moment, it's a disaster not being able to complete a simple pass every game after coming back from injury and a subpar performance before that last injury, of course it decreases his value. Up to the point where nobody will want to trade for him if he doesn't step it up IMO.
  22. Mostly agree with that, but feel maybe LA could have gotten a little bit more. Maybe a better return could also have convinced LA to take on Sam Gagner from Toronto's farm in the deal! Oh, wait... ;-) Sutter or Tanev for Liljegren and Zach Hyman or Liljegren and their 2nd maybe.
  23. Not saying you’re wrong but I’d take Goldy over McCann as well. Doubt McCann can be more than a 3C, while Goldy with all his defiences still oozes potential. It’s a gamble of course, and the odds are probably 50/50 or worse that Goldy never pans out, but homer or not, that’s the way I see it.
  24. Sutter was shockingly bad against the Canes, couldn't even complete a simple pass. He's never been able to drive any offense apart from shooting off the rush, but he's been very steady and reliable defensively so I really don't know what's happened or if it's just temporary. If he really has that good reputation we keep hearing about, let's trade him asap before it's too late ;-)
  25. Stop going five hole all the time Jake and just roof it!
