  1. I personally thought Bowey played very well for Abby and maybe they bring him back as he can fill an emergency call up role if needed but management said they want to get younger and have more actual prospects in the lineup vs older players that may have peaked. That said; I would be happy to see him back as there are not many young D-men in the prospects group right now.
  2. Best take some Magic Mushrooms along... He will need all the help he can get
  3. from Abby's roster last year and yet to sign either in Abby or elsewhere: Remple, Petan, DiGuiseppe, Bowey, Bailey, Lukosevicius, Stephans, Sautner, Hirano, Nielsen, Cutler, Murphy, Hickey, McManus, Bhrubaker, Keppen, Guay. I'm sure I have probably missed a few. Of the ones listed I am hoping to see Bailey, Hirano, Nielsen and maybe Keppen re-signed; the others, are either getting to old to be considered as a prospect and not good enough to be considered as anything more than an emergency call up. Bailey can score at the AHL level and can skate at an NHL level; Hirano might be a good fit in the bottom six at the NHL level but really to early to tell even at his age IMO. Nielsen did OK for a 1st yr AHL player but unsure of his skating or ability to process the game at speed. I would like to see if he can up his game in a 2nd year in the pro's Keppen is a bit of an enigma to me. Honestly have not seen enough of him to really have an opinion one way or the other. He does have youth on his side if they do decide to re-sign him. He is a big body and maybe his calling is in a checking / enforcer role similar to Arseneau. Just my opinions on the subject. Feedback welcomed.
  4. This post should be moved to 2022 Entry Draft. They are not prospects yet.

  5. I wonder when the Canucks will release the development camp attendee's. Very curious to see who they have on the list. I found this post from @VancouverHabitantback 3 yrs ago that is very interesting.
  6. I really do hope that they can re-sign him to a reasonable cap hit and term. He provides an element to the Canucks that I just do not see from a lot of the other players on the team. Many on here think he is to old for the group going forward but I am not one of them. There are a lot of very good teams in the league that have players even older than Miller that are making a big difference to the teams they are on. Kucherov and Stamkos in TB and Landeskog and Kahdri in COL are prime examples of this.
  7. Miller is a power center while Pettersson is a finesse centerman. Both have very positive attributes that help the team going forward.
  8. I think his re-signing; while a bit of a surprise, is his last chance to make an impression that he is NHL ready, or he is likely gone at the end of the upcoming season. He is, after all, just about 25 yrs old. The clock is nearing midnight IMO.
  9. I really hope that the Canucks and Miller's camp can come to an amicable agreement that both sides are happy with and he remains a Canuck for the foreseeable future. Players with Miller's size, skill and determination are rare commodities.
  10. I'm not sure Alf. Just wondering if they might give him a look and see how he handles the assignment. He is very talented so I think it might be a possibility although he may be better served playing in Abby for most of the coming season.
  11. I would rather see Linus Karlsson get a look see at that spot instead of Lazar. To be honest; I have not sen much of Karlsson's game to know how he would fare at that position but he is a center and is a right shot as well.
  12. Oh; I'm not counting him out. I just think he will need a year in Abby to get back up to speed. Really hard to tell how much he can regain after so much time off.
  13. My guess is that he will spend the entire season in Abby and management will make a decision on him by February as to whether he is possibly worth re-signing or whether to cut bait once his contract is up. How it turns out is mostly up to him.
  14. He has played in the NHL but two game 3 yrs. apart is not a player that is likely NHL ready any time soon.
  15. @SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.MEI have a question that you might be able to answer for me...If he plays in Sweden in 2022-23 does his ELC slide a year. That would be a good thing if that is indeed true.
  16. Good to see that they have extended him. Made the transition from WHL to AHL quite well IMO. Deserves a longer look to see how much he can up his game.
  17. They will need to bring in a few extra D men as that position is looking really thin. Hoping they can re-sign Stevens, Remple and Dries or at least players with similar skill levels. IMO; both Woo and Focht need to have a really good upcoming year. They were a bit disappointing, at least from the little I saw of them.
  18. I think they can attend but have to pay all of their own expenses including air fare, lodging etc.
  19. In NHL.com...click stats, select player, on screen that comes up select game type (reg season) and franchise ( Canucks)
  20. They do both team and roster inc. coaches, trainers, scouts and players at a snails pace eg: they still show Roger Takahashi as part of the human performance team. If you want complete player stats for all Canuck's players you have to go to NHL.com stats / player / regular season / Vancouver and it lists all player stats inc. TOI
  21. They are slow to update any of the team section including roster, coaching, trainers, scouts etc.
  22. Sounds like he will be ready for when the season in Abby starts.... I expect that is where he will wind up as he has no NHL experience.
  23. He needs to have all the same toys as the team out West.
