  1. I do not profess to know what his actual preferences are. I am only going on what his friend said to me while I was in getting my teeth cleaned.
  2. Your a really funny guy for a smart a$$ She is not my friend but a friend of Jake. Same age, went to school together. Graduated same year and are still best friends. Think she has a pretty good insight into what his plans are. I am also from Creston and know her grandfather and her family quite well.
  3. But were you ever from the East or West Kootenay to begin with or a lower main-lander? Most people in the Kootenay's have a greater affinity to Alberta than they do the lower mainland. You can even see the difference when it comes to federal and provincial politics. A close relative of mine who lives in Washington State and East of the Cascades says it is the same scenario there. Most in the West vote Democrat while most in the East vote Republican.
  4. My guess would be Florida or Calgary. A high school friend who is now a dental assistant in my home town told me a month ago that it was unlikely that he would sign with Vancouver. A lot of his friends moved to Calgary once they graduated. Florida with its tax breaks and year round climate could also be an option as a previous poster has already mentioned. Doubt very much it would be deadmonton.
  5. Marchand doesn't have the kahoonas to do that to JT's face though. He would probably slew foot him instead.
  6. Sadly that is the reality in massive large scale natural disasters when they occur.
  7. If they keep winning it looks like they will go to the final 4 which goes from Apr6-9th. He should be able to sign after that but who might land him is really up in the air IMO.
  8. the countdown begins 1st time trying to create new thread and not having much luck adding clipping to it
  9. If Pearson comes off of LTIR in the summer, I think he will be moved. His age and previous injury are the main factors for him to be moved IMO. The other forward I can see them moving on from is Garland instead of Boeser. I see him as having better relative market value vs salary than Boeser does right now. They may give Boeser one more year to prove his value to the team vs his cap cost. I think it is going to be an interesting summer for the team as to who goes and who stays.
  10. I very much agree with that. The most likely scenario, IMO, is to move Myers contract this off season. That will free up some cap space and if Hronek is all that he is advertised to be; he will be Myers replacement. Hopefully they can entice Livingstone to sign with Vancouver as that could really change the dynamic on the back end in a positive way.
  11. They have till next year to sign him if they choose to do so. My guess is that they are waiting to see if they can sign one or more NCAA D-men 1st.
  12. Benning has some competition for signing really bad contracts by GM Treliving in Calgary. Huberdeau @ 10.5 mil/ yr till 29-30 and Kadri @ 7 mil/ yr till 28-29. Performance this year is worth about 4.5 mil each IMO. They just might outdo the OEL contract as albatrosses around the Flames future.
  13. Ownership isn't going anywhere. Perhaps you should pick a different team to cheer for. Horvat trade still to be determined as to who came out on top. Hronek trade was part of the rebuild. Good RD D-men don't grow on trees; there is a price to be paid in order to acquire them. Benning left the current management group a real mess to sort out and that will take time. OEL's anchor of a contract is a major obstacle to improving this team. I initially had my doubts about RT as a coach; Gonchar and Foote are good adds as are the Sedin's and Colliton in Abby. Future looks much better than it did while Benning and Green were at the helm IMO.
  14. I think you have made a fair evaluation of the managements performance so far.
  15. As I have posted somewhere else on this board; I would much rather listen or read posts from Faber or Quadrelli. Even funnier is that I am now quite sure that it was Drance at the TOR-Van game with the Maple leaf painted on his face. He has a very distinctive ear shape and if you compare the face paint to a pic. of him you will see the resemblance as well.
  16. I guess one positive in the update to the contract date on CapFriendly, is that he will still be an RFA at the end of his contract and not eligible for an offer sheet..
  17. I see that CapFriendly has changed his signing to start in 22-23 now. Must have been an initial assessment on their part. That will have him playing in Van by the look of it
  18. As he was not on the roster at the trade deadline he may not be able to play in the playoffs from what I have heard
  19. CapFriendly is showing his contract starting next year. I wonder if he can sign a PTO with Vancouver for the balance of this season? @mllDo you have any input on how this could work?
