    Why not move the post to "Proposals" then? I at least tagged it as a rumour, which it is. Whether the source is questionable or not, who cares, it's good discussion.

      Sorry you feel that way. It wasn't my intention.

       

      I've been using the same general guidelines/board rules for the past 10+ years on here to deal with threads in that forum section when it comes to sources and it has rarely been an issue. If anything the biggest fuss was when there was at least one source people wanted us to get rid of that we allowed to stay. In any event, it usually doesn't result in very many threads being closed.

       

      In the future please send a PM to a mod if you have an issue with a mods decision instead of using status updates. If you still disagree with my decision you can ask another mod for a second opinion if you like.

      Maybe wait until the rumor is denied by someone from the Canucks then it could be closed, the fact that no one from the Canucks has even denied this rumor yet should be a strong enough case to at least have the topic still open for discussion.

      I apologize for making it public, I thought I was pming you by writing on your page so to speak. Just kinda frustrating when I thought I went through the hoops, only to have it locked... When I see some others I won't mention who make endless substanceless threads, that could've simply have been posted in established threads, and theirs don't get locked lol

    lol that item for $2.00 US that should be worth $2.50 CAN, you'll actually find in Canada for around 4.50 due to the fact we have less global buying power, and thus do not get things for the same rates that the US can. That and everyone here are greedy pigs.

    Just to add a bit of information that I read: I saw an article on "Thescore" which along with Hextall mentioned that Chiapet could be a candidate for the GM opening in Minny. How does a guy with his recent history garner any sort of recognition? His Stanley Cup victory was going on 9 years ago now, I don't know why people choose to focus on that rather than his outrageous blunders recently. I was sure glad to see the rumours of him joining our FO haven't come true, at least yet. I hope they stay that way, just rumours.

    I'm not making things up, the poster I quoted literally said we need a legitimate enforcer. To me that implies the enforcers of old, who are what most refer to as goons. My point about team toughness still stands, we don't need an "enforcer" or "goon" or whatever other adjective you want to call it.

    What is with you old farts thinking you need some goon to "enforce" things, still? There's no place in todays NHL to have some stone hands goon on your team anymore. Everyone on the roster needs to be able to produce, in more ways than simply getting into fights and being imposing to other teams. It's all about team toughness now. You need players that can score, and take care of themselves, or team mates that'll come to their defense. get with the times man.

    That's why you're not an NHL GM. Binnington is relatively unproven at this point. Hes getting monetary reward for his efforts, and in 2 short years if he can show he can keep up that level, Im sure he'll get a 5-7 year deal worth 6+.

    I view Lievo as a similar player to Chris Higgins. I think Lievo definitely has the ceiling of a 20 goal guy, in the right situation. I don't think it's unfair to ask 15 goals out of him from the 3rd line. I think if he can provide 15 goals, and maybe 20 assists, then he's good depth scoring, which will definitely help our team tremendously. He also seems responsible defensively and willing to lay out some hits which keeps him useful. I definitely don't see him being on par with Pearson at all.
