Jim Bennings legacy without the OEL trade. Grade him out of 10.

He only deferred to Delorme because Brackett and Hammarströmwas on their way out. -

No, saved face while sacrificing a young prospect. That is a psychopath or sociopath in action. I tried to explain it before but you don’t get it. Now more than I see that he did things that were bad for the team. You all should have listened to me when I showed his tells. Save his own face while sacrificing a person without any power is a real tell who somebody is. -

It seems you still don’t understand what Benning dud there. -

? Loui was treated? The Loui thing was very little but showed how Benning tries to save his face on others expense. Dahlen on the other hand. That was really bad and moved him into sociopath behaviour. -

I hope you were joking there. Ferland that no insurance company would insure is by far the worst contract of Benning. Not Loui, Not the whole OEL trade etc Ferland played three games and two fights and then he was gone with a hefty price tag. Way worst contract and Benning knew how bad it was with Ferland. So the allegation that Benning gave senior players a pension fond might be accurate or that he was Bettmans handyman here. -

I would probably lower it to 2,2 but I’m biased I heard. Amasing that fans here have this view on Benning. Kudos for that. This place were literally filled with Bennings henchmen attacking everyone that had a different(negative) opinion. -
Hmm, I hear the word accountability all the time hear. Why did BB let Demko play when he was as bad as he was? BB know how Demko play when he is healthy. Isn’t the coach the one that decides wich players play?
-
Don’t people talk about that all the time here? Highest roof or floor etc…
-
Demko hadn’t come back healthy so it’s on BB that he let him play. It shows pretty quick if Demko can move as he should. So you can blame BB for the period before he got officially injured. Why should Brackett know who Lind was? The scouts have different areas to cover and it seems Brackett was more to Europe as he was involved in the Petey draft. Benning was very much like Trump so you can think around that clip with Trump in your mind. That is also a guy who thinks he knows best. Didn’t he hire Brackett and start upp the AHL affiliate? That he had very bad luck regarding prospects is very true. But it’s a lottery when you don’t have top ten picks to choose from. Benning had a lot of top ten picks… It’s very strange to trade for a short player. we already had tol many short or thin players and got rid of a short RHD that played better than most of the D that stayed. Why trade for a shorty then? It’s almost as Benning knew his days was almost over and ge did a Trump, screw the organisation before I go. he’s quick and good with players like Petey. That should be enough for you. They couldn’t get rid of BB before the season so the season was lost anyway. Now Tocchet got in so he could evaluate the players before next season and that is really valuable. Next season we have playoff hockey, be glad for that. Ho ho ho…

He had his spin doctors go over every post here. The negative posters were attacked and the Benning fan posters said that the negative ones belongs to the HF board. Claiming negative fans belonged on the HF board were pretty effective.

[REPORT] Pierre-Luc Dubois has requested a trade
Timråfan replied to Elias Pettersson's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
But careerwise is it great to join the Canucks. Where can he be a 2nd C and get as good wingers as here with almost sheltered minutes? Petey and him have a lot good going if so with Kuz, Mikh, Miller, Beau, Boeser, Garland, Hogz, Podz and next year Lekkerimäki. -
Gillis had very bad luck with drafting also. If he only got a Silovs or whatever he would have been one of the top three GM in the Canucks history. His drafting wich depended onwich scouts and analysts he had is what sunk him for some. Not for me though because a GM isn’t the draft expert. A GM has to rely on the personnel doing all the footwork. You thouhh, seems to think a GM is a scout.
-
That Benning was really bad in that trade. So bad it took away anything good he did. A GM can’t be anymore shortsighted than he was.
-
OEL is most famous of the players so I call it the OEL trade. Read what I said before you react. First you can check where I Said anything of OEL as a bad player.
-
Why do you keep talking about OEL? The trade with three of our players and a first was so dumb it takes away anything good ge did. That’s because it showed that the players drafted etc wasn’t because Benning was a good GM. It was that bad.
-
The trade itself was immensly stupid. Not OEL as a player. You talk about the Sedins, can’t Benning make a decision by himself? If you try to blame the Sedins for OEL it’ s you saying that Benning always went the way of others. Fun huh…
-
Lol, it’s so fun to see that 93 percent thought he did a good job back then and then came OEL and the shortsighted trade. Voila, fans saw how bad he really was.
