  1. The TB Lightning chapter in the Hockey News 2022-23 Yearbook says that Myers' play has been "trending the wrong way over the past couple of years". Maybe the Canucks should take a look at those advanced stats before grabbing him..
  2. I think so. That's why Arizona had first shot at grabbing Valimakki yesterday.
  3. He and Burroughs would make such a good pairing, they both even had the same numbers of hits last season: 122!
  4. Or.....wait!............was Edler a left-handed Johansson??!
  5. Or is it more because it was one of those old radio's in the wooden cabinet that you couldn't lift into bed??
  6. Okay, so they're basically just listing every healthy player still on the roster. This isn't much help!
  7. Good point!.......Plus he wasn't nearly as cute!
  8. This is making Benning sound like Putin's evil twin!
  9. He should be able to do everything that Burroughs can do and he's also a RHD. But yes, after missing a full season, he may still need some catch-up time in the A.
  10. WE WANT(ED) KEMELL! WE WANT(ED) KEMELL!
  11. Boeser missed scrimmage today and he and his linemates won't play on Sunday. You know who else is missing? Poolman. His training camp D partner, Dermott is playing, but not Poolman. That's the only training camp D pairing that it looks like won't be playing together against the Flames. After missing as much time as he did last year, I kinda thought Boudreau would want to see as muich as he could out of Poolman in the exhibition games. Could this mean Poolman's migraines have returned??
  12. I think everyone already read a fair bit into DeKeyser being paired with Myers throughout training camp. Drance is a little late to the party it seems.
  13. This is where Horvat reminds me so much of Linden as a leader and team captain. Both very well-respected, big, physical guys who could hit if needed and get their noses dirty in the corners, but would only fight if they were physically dragged into it. This used to drive Tommy Larschied crazy about Linden, especially in those instances where he should have been fighting to stick up for a teammate. Being the huge Stan Smyl fan that I always was, this was the difference in Linden's leadership style and personality that used to be especially hard for me to accept as well. It's also an issue that's not popular to bring up for either Horvat or Linden, considering how classy and widely admired both are.
  14. At first I was trying to figure out which player goes by the nickname "Pears", then I clued in! I think you may be right, a switch of Hoglander and 'Pears' on the first and fourth lines could turn out to be a best fit, although Pears will probably have to play himself off the first line first. Dickinson could then just stay as the 13th forward, although the way DiGiuseppe has started, he may be making a claim on that spot as well. Considering that they probably won't be concerned about losing him on waivers though, I think he'll more likely be an early injury call-up.
  15. LOL. Well that puts a different light on things. Nevertheless, it looks like Hoglander's play may just keep him up with the big club this year, regardless of whether or not that was the plan from the start.
  16. Interesting. I noticed they made sure not to include any clips of players who might be at risk of not making the opening night roster, meaning clips of players who could be fighting it out to make the 4th line or the 3rd D pairing, but they did include a couple of Hoglander's clips. Does this mean he's been in their plans to start the season all along? Is his placement on the Aman-Karlsson line only a ploy to get his butt in gear? If so, it seems to be working, at least if you listen to Boudreau today. I'm thinking he makes the team, at least as the 13th forward.
  17. "So buy your season's tickets now, before it's too late!"
  18. As much as a I like him, I'm not sure there's a spot for Burroughs on the Canucks D to start the season. Especially if Poolman is healthy. On the positive side, there's also very little risk of us losing him on waivers. There will be 100 other borderline NHL d-men like him being waived to the A throughout the preseason.
  19. This dude must have mastered the art of retracting 'em at will!
