  1. Totally. Arguably been our best (non-goalie) players. I'm in all seriousness worried that they might conform.
  2. Ok, but you quoted exactly everything except the point which was this, "I mean, they are creative, shifty, take lots of shots, and are unpredictable."
  3. We don't have anything to trade for that. I was just replying that the Sedins were on the 2nd line because we had a good team. As would Petey be currently.
  4. They definitely haven't been paying attention, but I hope we'll be ok!
  5. The Sedins were second liners behind the West Coast Express, ie on a good team. I like Petey and think he'll be fine, but he would be a great 2nd line center on a contending team.
  6. Haha, yeah I thought it was pretty obvious, but maybe we are all a bit on edge. I actually do think the heading question is legit though...
  7. Yeah, both upgrades, though the Eagle was a warrior for us for many years. Read the whole post if you haven't..
  8. Watch all the tape on our opponents scoring highlight reel goals on us on the PP. Do that.
  9. What's with these clowns? It's SO obvious they're new here and perplexed by our systems. I mean, they are creative, shifty, take lots of shots, and are unpredictable. Will they assimilate before their disease infects the whole team? Conform or ride the pine, I say.
  10. Real question: Do any other teams employ our PK “system “? I’m assuming not, because we often go entire PPs without ever really entering the zone with control. By system, I mean allow the PP zone entry, set up at your leisure and pass around until you’re ready to shoot. I know we are missing PKers, but really looks the same as the last 3 seasons.
  11. I think Jimbo has improved the team every year. My ire has been with the decision to go the retool route over committing to a rebuild. I do believe that was the cause of the riff between Jimbo and Big Trev. So, in the context of a retool, which Jim may not have had much choice in, he's done pretty well putting together an above average team. The disappointing part is that we've sacrificed the future (trading away picks and prospects, never leveraging pending UFA's), while still sucking horribly. In a retool, I'd say he's done his job, and the team has underachieved consistently. The last 3-4 years the players have been good enough, and improved every year. Edit: not sure if I made it clear that our coaching is horrible and the main reason our beloved team has been one of the worst in the league.
  12. I know a lot of Insiders are saying that this thread, and the trade proposals within, was the impetus for getting the boys to finally agree to a contract. I'm not really comfortable with accepting the credit for speeding things up, but excited / relieved to have the team back together!
  13. Close. I heard there's a deal in the works for Brown, Jovanovski, and Weekes. Not confirmed yet.
  14. Been wondering about this. How does it play? Can they not spend the LTIR until season starts?
  15. Agreed on Rathbone. But, I still don't think you turn down this deal. Gives options to acquire another D.
  16. Some agents (definitely this one) are in this purely to maximize their own payday. The analogy to parasitic realtors being a big part of housing no longer being affordable is a good one. I've been critical of Benning before, but I am putting most of the blame for this on the players' side. We don't know what has been tabled of course, but I am pretty sure some form of an offer that includes 8m/yr for Hughes or 9m/yr for Petey has been put out there and rejected. I don't think these players should expect to be among the highest paid in the league at this point, but I'm starting to think that's where we're at.
  17. It's a gamble for sure. But, we'd get a high first round pick regardless, and if Eichel does come back 100%? That's a win. The Brockstar broke his frikkin' back a few years ago, and it's only made him stronger.
  18. Or Mukhamadullin? They would definitely over pay to get the Hughes bros together.
  19. You are right, we'd be taking the risk, so conditional picks make sense. But, how about Eichel, Dahlin, and next year's first straight up, would you do that? I would.
  20. Wouldn't say there's been much bashing on this thread. It's an option that the team has to at least consider, and there's been some well thought out ideas. We're disappointed they aren't here, and passing the time!
