  1. Well if people think that role is 1st-2nd line, then you're overrating him like a MF. Guy is a depth/fringe NHL player, regardless of how well he plays that role.
  2. Mikheyev Petey Kuzmenko Podkolzin Miller Boeser Hoglander 3C Garland Joshua Aman PDG Beau traded for scraps. That isn't a lineup I'm excited to watch. Outside of Miller/Petey and hopefully Kuz, that's not much high end talent.
  3. In a perfect world, we move all 3, without giving up assets. For me, I keep Boeser. I don't have a lot of hope for him personally, but I think there's a good chance on getting some decent assets for him next year when his contract is expiring. Garland I don't want to see be mediocre for another 3 years, so he's the guy i'd move first if I'm able. Beau is another guy who's easily replaceable, being on an expiring deal should help make him more of an attractive player than Garland.
  4. Canucks Getting Calls On Garland (details below) "Hi Patrik/Jim, just calling to say we don't want Garland." /thread.
  5. True, but they both are still only barely NHL capable players, and both play a way better defensive game. Rathbone has struggled on the defensive side of the puck his entire pro career. Even in Abby this year, he was pushed down the depth chart.
  6. Rathbone is so far down the depth chart now, I don't think you need to worry about seeing him. The fact he barely played last year with the depleted lineup we had speaks volumes about his future here.
  7. Dude, he played 7 games on a team playing with 0 pressure, and the weakest schedule in the league. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves here with Hirose.
  8. Bingo. Considering we gave his agent permission to seek a trade back in December.. The fact he's still here is all the proof anyone needs to show he has negative trade value.
  9. Boeser costs assets to move. Crouse would still have market value, 2nd round value would be my guess. You aren't getting that deal done in a 1 for 1 swap, 0 percent. You'd need to retain on Brock to offset the dollars going in and out. Brocks best value would be with retention at the deadline for a team looking to shore up depth scoring.
  10. My plan is to woo Mila Kunis away from Ashton Kutcher. Long term, it's just as likely.
  11. Especially when all the profitable NHL teams are still having to bail teams like Arizona out with revenue sharing. Such a joke. Gary needs to let his little pet die.
  12. Myers is a top 4 dman on the majority of NHL clubs. The issue is, unless he played with Hughes last year, he was playing with near AHL level talent. Don't get me wrong, he's not a 6 million dollar guy, but you're just regurgitating the CDC bs when you say he isn't a top 4. If you're a cup contending team, he's still a 4-5 guy. The issue is our entire Dcore has been atrocious his entire tenure, and the team has played with no structure.
  13. That would be my preference too. This team hasn't earned the assets its going to take to improve. We're a good enough team on paper to at least be competitive late in the season for a playoff spot. If we can't be that team, there is no point wasting more assets on this current core.
  14. True, but most posters here struggle with logic and common sense.
  15. No. No he can't. If Garland was worth anything, he would have been moved last year. Chicago will be able to attain some good assets in picks/prospects to take on guys like Garland. They aren't going to be sending picks out during a rebuild. Garland doesn't move the needle at all for their rebuild. It's not hard to spend money (Chicago) but its costly to shed (Vancouver)
  16. Honestly, you probably would have a hard time replacing Myers. Unless you're trading Myers for another top 4 dman? Otherwise we're going to be forced into locking a guy up with more term via free agency, or bleeding even more assets just to fill the void he left.
  17. Fingers crossed forsure, but don't hold your breath... Cause you'll die. It's not happening my man.
  18. I'd still rather retain at the deadline with Boes, and pick 11th. I wan't to stop the haemorrhaging and put an end to mortgaging the future. If we move down and miss out on a stud, the fanbase will burn Rogers arena to the f**king ground. If we were full of prospects coming down the pipeline, fine. But we're bottom of the league.
  19. The worst part of moving a winger with Hoglander as the sweetener, is he would be the perfect cheap replacement for whichever winger we move.
