Oof this is tough to get through. I struggle to see what she is trying to achieve. It seems very much like she had a hard-nosed boss in EC, and EC's management style was too direct and blunt for her to handle. If they are in the playoff hunt and clearly aren't doing a rebuild, then I would hope they find a way to move out Garland and Myers... and then find a way to re-sign Bo and Kuz and somehow magically upgrade the D in that Garland trade (seems doubtful, wingers are not valued anywhere near as high as D right now) or find some cap space to do so in the off season. Not ideal because we would be downgrading in Myers spot, but it's not like our D has been good with him... better to take the cap space. Biggest hope would be no picks are moved out.

Well put, I think this sums up my speculations on the matter as well. Not a matter of EC feeling "jealous" but more-so a feeling that RD had a long road to go and was being over ambitious and not respectful of the 'career process'.

Isn't the idea to take BPA in round 1, and not target current positional or organizational needs (i.e. a RHD, or a big physical skater, etc)? I wasn't too up to date on this past draft, who should they have taken instead?
