  1. You forgot to mention the legendary Japanese hockey player Taro Tsujimoto (who says Punch Imlach didn't have a sense of humor lol?)!: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taro_Tsujimoto#:~:text=Taro Tsujimoto (Japanese katakana%3A ツジモト,the 1974 NHL amateur draft.
  2. Imagine if Mogilny had made the final cut & got in the HHOF instead of say, "Crusty" (as Laffans love to call him). A clean sweep of Canucks!
  3. To be fair, the Jann Wenner Hall of Fame (which is really what it is) has even less credibility than the Hockey Hall of Fame.
  4. Brendan Gaunce *might* end up with a longer NHL career than Jake Virtanen.
  5. Where do the Caps get the cap space to take on the contracts of both Miller & OEL? Sure, they currently have just under 9 million in cap space available, but they still have to get TWO goalies signed under contract (and only have 5 defensemen signed).
  6. Now if only the Vancouver Whitecaps can get better owners. Unlike Melnyk, who wasn't THAT loaded, the Whitecaps owners have about as much as the Aquilini's so they're just cheap.
  7. meh, a turd like every person on that team. Began when he whined about Burrows chomping on his hand. Here's a clue ****, don't shove your gloved hand in another players mouth if you don't want to be bitten.
  8. I'll give more credit to the Griffiths family for building the arena *ENTIRELY* from private funding rather than say the bastion of capitalism (Alberta) where the taxpayers help fund their arenas (Lames & Coilers).
  9. A shame I think cumulative injuries impacted/shortened Lanz career. At the very least, his nonhockey skills such as being born in Czechoslovakia and raised there a few years until the Russians invaded helped ease in Hlinka and Bubla as he was sort of an on ice translator for the two former Allstars for for country. True that Bubla was better able to adapt to the North American style of hockey. Have to wonder if the Canucks had such a player much later when two other foreign hockey players signed here. I'm of course referring to Krutov. That guy was like lost in a world he didn't understand unlike Larionov who was more worldly.
  10. A shame we just ran out of healthy bodies in that post-season. Think Salo was the ONLY healthy D we had ironically had that Finals (I don't count Ballard since AV even considered Baumgartner over him lol). All the rest were playing injured. Typical "Canuck Luck". In 1982, our leader & captain (who also happened to be our best D) Kevin McCarthy got knocked out of the post-season due to a freak injury *DURING PRACTICE*. Granted, we had no chance against that Hall of Fame stacked Islanders lineup but still, it's like fighting Mike Tyson with one hand tied behind your back. Another wacky series was the Dallas series a few years earlier where Turco had THREE shutouts in a losing cause against us.
  11. As much as Luongo **** the bed at all the home games, he did get two shutouts in the Finals. If he could've somehow chanelled the OTHER Brodeur (the one who was a Canuck - Richard), for game 7, I think he might've been given the nod over Thomas. Canucks scored something like six goals *TOTAL* that entire 7 game series.
  12. True but I don't think Patrick Roy will hear you as he's got Conn Smyth wins covering up both his ears. Same with Bernie Parent.
  13. We still had the WCE line though. And we had legitimate 3C in the form of Chubie. And Linden. Sedins were better insulated. Right now we STILL have Horvat handling the tough C defensive assignments and winger Miller taking the other C spot.
  14. meh. Talk to Al McNeil. He got demoted right after winning the Cup as a rookie head coach for the Habs.
  15. https://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=Janitorial&l=Dallas%2C+TX&mna=5&aceid=&gclid=CjwKCAjwtcCVBhA0EiwAT1fY74914UZw8sk-i72mc5v9p7GapiHvByj8Dd941lNhLXfwKQEM25sBxhoCTQ4QAvD_BwE&redirected=1&vjk=d8522c10fe19444b Plenty of janitorial jobs still available in the Dallas area.. Maybe you can supply Travis the above link.
  16. Which is why I said in the post you quoted of mine that he was rightly blamed for leaving the farm system in the sad state it was. Reason why Miller is forced to play center is that the same empty cupboard in the farm over 7 years after Gillis was fired. That's on Benning. It's not like Gillis traded away a ton of future draft picks that Benning couldn't use.
  17. Nurse is horse**** though. Tanev *might* be a' has been' but Nurse is a 'never was'. Overrated garbage much like many on the Coilers roster. Mark Spector though is chicken **** of course. The worst smelling manure on the planet.
  18. Blame Gillis! Seriously though, that GM was rightly blamed for leaving the farm system in the sad state it was when Benning was first hired. Issue is, 7 years later, the situation isn't that different today.
