  1. How am I acting like an Oilers' fan? By showing proper business etiquette? Isn't that the complete opposite of what Edmonton is doing? So your true colours show on what you said. You just don't want him here anyways. If Edler is still here, that's good. If he's not, then thanks for the years of service. Either way it doesn't matter to me, but treating him with respect is the way it should be done.
  2. And then that agent and everybody else they represent will never sign with Vancouver, as a FA. They will know you to be a GM who doesn't honour contracts. Why would any agent and player trust you? Again, anything you do and say in these negotiations may come back to haunt you. Do you really want to ruin relationships when the team is the one that gave out the NTC?
  3. How did it hold the Canucks hostage? They gave him that contract. They are the ones to blame. If they didn't give him the NTC this wouldn't be an issue. Plus he was on a cap friendly hit for those years. He negotiated those rights. Can we trade you to be a Toronto fan if you don't want to be one? That's what you're trying to do to him. This is a business, stop putting emotions into it. If you were a business, you don't negotiate in bad faith, or you won't have a business that anybody will want to work with.
  4. Wrong, wrong and more wrong. He DOES play in the last minute or 2 when we have a 1 goal lead. He scored 2 EN goals, I believe.
  5. Yet I would still take the Canucks roster over the Red Wings.
  6. WHAT!?!?!?! Only 369 regular season games appearances?? What a bum!! Should be 410! Happy Birthday Fin!
  7. Apparently somebody on the other team said he couldn't score lol.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't his salary cap still 6 M? If we bury him in the minors it's still 5 M, is it not?? His actual money paid this season maybe only 3 mill but that's different from the team cap.
  9. haha I'm not looking for props. I'm saying I'm thinking the same way.
  10. I mentioned this in the other thread.
  11. Why are you comparing his whole tenure? Isn't it only been 3 years since they basically went full rebuild? The first couple years the nucks were retooling, therefore not really acquiring picks. Whether that was the right decision, that's up for debate, but you can't start from the beginning, counting all the draft picks, when they're not rebuilding from the start of Benning's tenure.
  12. I'm actually hoping they trade with Colorado and get the 4th pick. Give em 10th OA, 40th OA, and Hutton (who they seemed to have interest in). Of course with the stipulation that BYRAM is still there.
  13. You should just change it to that anyways. It's better than your current username
  14. I believe if Michigan makes the Frozen Four, it will be Apr 11-13. I believe the NHL regular season ends on Apr 6. If that happens, QH will not be on the team till next season.
  15. And look who ended up with the canucks at the end. Just because Brock didn't play the first 2 games doesn't mean that Burmistrov was gifted a spot ahead of him. Boeser looked tired at the end of preseason, considering he played alot more of the preseason games then the vets. Boeser would've played in game 2, but the canucks won game 1 and TG didn't want to change the lineup that won the first game. This is a Quinn Hughes post. Stop talking about forwards. I would understand this argument if you're talking about defenseman and the log jam we have there, but nope it's all about OMG WE HAVE TOO MANY FORWARDS!! THE YOUNG GUYS ARE GONNA GET WAIVED AND BAD ASSET MANAGEMENT!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!. Start putting your opinions in the battles at camp thread on the canucks talk page. Stick to Quinn Hughes talk. This also goes for you @Horvat is a Boss. Anyways back to the thread at hand ...... QH sure can dangle!! Can't wait to see him sign that contract and play in Penticton (On Livestream of course, since I don't actually live in Penticton).
  16. How bout you put your opinions on another thread. This is a Hughes thread, not an OMG THE CANUCKS SUCK AT ASSET MANAGEMENT!!! thread. There are tons of threads there that you can add your opinions on in the canucks talk section.
  17. From what I read, he was put on in the end of games to defend leads in Michigan. I also heard that the team basically changed their whole playing scheme because of him. Based off of what I read, I can say he played in all situations. He was also put in a top 4 role on team US by the end of the tournament in the World Championships. He got scored on only once in the whole tournament, by Korea of all teams. He's a cerebral player, and that is how he will be defending.
  18. I believe QH was already playing those elite minutes you talk about on Michigan. He was their #1 D-man playing in all situations. What he would learn in the NHL is the time it takes to make decisions (since you have to make them quicker in the NHL). He won't get that experience playing in the minors or in college. I would be all for him going back to college if he wasn't a good defensemen, but from what I've heard, he's a smart player defensively as well as offensively. Only thing he gains playing in college is playing with his brother for a "fun" season.
  19. Yup, they look to be heading in the right direction. Let's see if JT re-signs, but it's looking better for the islanders. They were finally smart in dumping Snow.
  20. Looks like biggest steal might be Islanders at 12 with Dobson .... wow did he drop. Never expected him to go down that far. And Zadina.
