  1. Would any of you graphic geniuses like to incorporate some of these images and color schemes onto my '53 pickup? I'd very much appreciate your ideas and even if we don't get it on the truck, it would be cool to see what you come up with. I've tried to get it done commercially but the local guys have declined due to copyright type issues. I haven't been able to get a response from the Canucks at all on this issue, so I could not put their minds at ease. Since it's a '53, I want to incorporate Bo's 53, and then, of course, 43, and 40, and Johnny Canuck (with the stick). Anybody got any ideas? Thanks in advance. And, GO BO GO !!
  2. Not only did Butthead give Vegas the keys to the kingdom, he only had to pay 1/2 a billion bucks. Doubled his money the day he signed on.
  3. Can you guys quit bashing Canucks? Such a downer on the most exciting game day in a very long time.
  4. Hopefully. Now we might need something on Fleury, as Lehner did not have a good game (2 goals on 17 shots).
  5. Interesting developments from all the top Finnish players who dominated that draft.
  6. Would someone please inform I-Mac that there is no eel in Elias? I just tune him out every time I hear that "Eel-ee-us"; makes him sound less informed than he is.
  7. No love for Petey's goal? Big scrum, picks it out of all the traffic, couple feet off the ice, perfect deflection off the shaft of his stick, of a shot that would have missed the net. Also, 'Lias received at least a couple passes that would be impossible for most others; one off his shoulder blades without stopping his momentum. Takes the cheap shots and keeps coming back for more. A somewhat somber note: we all love Q's production but few have commented that Makar is right there with him (14 pts each). Not raining on the parade, just amazed at how close these two are.
  8. Back-to-backs again Saturday-Sunday (Aug 29 & 30) with an extra hour between start times (6:45 & 7:30).
  9. I don't care what we (the fanbase) look like. I just wish you guys would put these annoying posters on "Ignore" instead of responding to them. The only time I see their crap is when you (the greater "you", not you specifically) quote them. Gives us all a break.
  10. Just in case anybody missed it, the game is scheduled to start at 6:45 Pacific (per NHL.com). Ladies and Gentlemen: Start your PVRs!
  11. I wanted him to break his ankle when he stepped on the puck. (The bigger they are, the harder they fall.)
  12. Another thing I would like to see is blasting away full power shots at guys brave enough to stand in front of them. Mow em down without taking penalties. Make em twitch; then the fake & pass; et voila: GOAL!
  13. This reminds me of Slapshot! One of the Hansen Brothers skates past the bench and slaps each guy with the blade of his stick and none see it coming.
  14. I agree (about hitting their D): Theodore and Schmidt are tall but skinny. Last game, near the end, the Nux appeared to be targetting 27, who I believe is Theodore, and he didn't like the attention. He was cringing before each hit and got rid of the puck before he needed to. This is the type of thing we can do to score some goals. Whitecloud also should be a target, as even though he is good, he is young and we were getting to him too. So send anyone who can hit onto their defense hard, and see if we can loosen up some pucks.
  15. I second that emotion. Looks like we're waiting yet another season cuz he re-signed in the KHL, didn't he? One year deal? Save that dream. Big game tonight. What I have seen of Vegas is a big, hard, fast, and heavy fore-check and mondo violence if anyone wants to go. We have to be ready for it and breakout of our zone fast. Make them turn around and chase us as long as it takes to pull away and win.
  16. We used to but 'they' took away the minus.
  17. Here is another example of MacLean of saying terribly inappropriate things, being made to apologize, and not really apologizing: CBC’s Ron MacLean issues 'clarification' over 9/11-NHL playoff comparison ELLIOTT PAP, VANCOUVER SUN 05.10.2012 CBC's Hockey Night In Canada broadcaster Ron MacLean. IAN KUBA / GETTY IMAGES SHAREADJUSTCOMMENTPRINT RELATED Canucks star Ryan Kesler likely out six months following shoulder surgery VANCOUVER — Usually it's the bombastic Don Cherry putting his foot in his mouth on Hockey Night In Canada, but now straight man Ron MacLean seems to have been infected, too. Prior to Wednesday night's puck drop between the Washington Capitals and New York Rangers, MacLean compared the hockey players to 9/11 first responders. Naturally this didn't go over very well, prompting MacLean to issue a clarification on Thursday. Here's the essence of what he said during his intro to the Caps-Rangers contest, won 2-1 by Washington: “It's crazy to compare what the emergency responders did during that time but a spirit has to start somewhere and, as you enjoy this series between the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals, you can't help but be struck by the players and the way they've played these games. They are like police officers, they are like firefighters. You can't fight fire with ego ... the pain these men have faced, the price they keep on paying, the hearts they keep on lifting.” MacLean was apparently reaching for some dramatic comparisons but they were inappropriate and fell flat. The Twitter universe, as it is wont to do, reacted quickly, among them New York Post hockey columnist Larry Brooks, who tweeted: “Ron MacLean, seriously? One of the most idiotic television segments of all time.” In any case, MacLean felt compelled to issue a statement Thursday on what the message he was try to convey. “I, like everyone on the planet in his or her lifetime, saw beyond the horror [of 9/11], the single greatest testament to the strength of the human spirit in the efforts of the first responders,” he said. “We never know if we'll have that spirit. The bravery, the resilience. “As I made clear, the hockey games in no way compare. However, sports has proven a worthy training ground in nurturing the qualities which beget that spirit. To say he plays like a firefighter or a policeman would instantly conjure the traits an athlete most desires, especially in New York and Washington. There could be no higher praise of a player, no greater choice of a role model.” Obviously MacLean felt no apology was in order and, hence, didn't offer one. This, of course, prompted more twitter reaction. “Does Ron MacLean's explanation statement come with English translation? I needed footnotes or something to understand it,” said Toronto-based columnist and sometimes TSN panelist Steve Simmons. “Twitter's courage right now in making fun of Ron MacLean's non-clarifying statement is inspiring,” wrote Postmedia national sports columnist Bruce Arthur. “I wish I had something to compare it to.” MacLean’s next appearance on Hockey Night will be Saturday when the Rangers and Capitals play Game 7 in their second-round Eastern Conference series. Needless to say, his intro will be highly scrutinized.
  18. I'm not sure that you are aware of the full story. It took a tremendous amount of courage on Alex's part to publicly state that the ref said he was out to get him. It just wasn't done back in those days; and the ref did get him good at the next opportunity. MacLean ranted on calling Burrows a liar and proclaiming from his high horse that no referee would ever say that. When made to apologize, he did not, but continued to slag Alex and defend the referee. This is apparently a picture of the slimeball when he was giving his 'apology'; look sorry to you?
  19. No, but I could only choose the heart-shaped like thing; the others weren't available.
  20. I'm counting on you wizards to post some videos. Need more Kevin.
