  1. Well, if it chases the Negative Nellies away, I'm all for it! GO CANUCKS GO!
  2. Gurn, you are a stickler, but you missed "equal or" and I don't think Mac was even in that list. Plus Draisaitl is riding McDavid's coat-tails; I wouldn't give up Pettersson for him, for sure. Last, Kuzmenko says Pettersson is the best player in the world, not McDavid.
  3. This has always been a fully cap-constrained season. Drop Virt, Holtby, Ferland, Juulsen, Di Giuseppe, and Dermott, and you've got $8,296,250 right there. Subtract Miller's increase of $2,750,000 and add the expected $1,000,000 and you have new room next season of $6,546,250. We might have to drag some bonuses or other such-like forward but mngt should strive to avoid these prior years' hangovers going forward. And mngt can still make trades up to the deadline, moving excess forwards for help on D. Win today, and CDC will be a much happier place!
  4. This is pretty good; but management did say they would have great difficulty fixing everything this year; just too much to sort out and no cap room to do it. Also, I am sure that they are not finished adjusting the team during this season, so better things are still coming.
  5. Here's my idea for fixing this shite right now: Next player to leave a gift (soft, back pass without looking, to the other team) sits out his next shift. Not the rest of the game because we need Miller and others unmentionables who keep destroying the great work done earlier. It should be a rule for today's game. Don't care who you are; give up a softie, a bullshit attempt, waddle to the bench cuz you're mad at yourself, whatever crap you have in the back of your hockey brain, and you sit! Sit there and think about it; exorcize it; burn it out of your brain with a red-hot poker! Another thought I do not see enough of in here today: Petey is playing GREAT! F-N LIGHTS OUT! Once he dials that slapper in that last angry little inch, he will be top of the league in scoring.
  6. Good stuff thanks. I played on a team where me and my buddy were the worst (bar none) players on the team. One game, we were losing 16-0 at the half (only 2 periods in beer league, one hour straight time). Our goalie was actually pretty good believe it or not. So I went to him at the half and asked what I should do. He took me off wing and put me on D and told me to stay there, don't go down the ice, just stay right here and don't let anyone stand in front of him. We lost. 17-16. Oh, and my buddy got our 16th goal laying flat on the ice, putting the puck in with his nose! Best game I ever played.
  7. Aren't you paying attention? It's not the stomach you need, it's the Big Balls of Sutter:
  8. Dress Kevin in Hughes' uni for warmup before puck drop (ala Slapshot).
  9. His knuckles look like he's been working the bag; I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not with his great hands. But, you have to be a man out there, and if he knows, or learns how to fight, more power to him.
  10. Yeah, I saw this one too, but who is Jonesy, and it's a Philly site, isn't it?
  11. Where did you get this? Is this real. Boudreau said 2 -4 weeks with a lower body injury. One reporter said he left the rink with a slight limp.
  12. Is that a new variant of Tae Bo and Kung Fu? Evy buddy was Kung Fu fighting These cats are fast as lightning?
  13. I'm still Hopping on the Limp Train; or hoping it is a lower body injury if you prefer. Poolman was really rounding into form on our weakest position. When he went down it really showed how much we miss Tyler Freaking Myers - the G-Monster. And Myers would have been all over Kane if he had been paired with Q. And all over Nursemaid for nailing Burroughs while he was already pinned to the boards. (Although I guess he and Burroughs wouldn't have been on the ice at the same time; there's always next shift though..) IMO, Aqua and JR have to call in some off-ice favours and get somebody to take some cap and give a good NHL RD. (I'm pondering a Garland + Miller for this good NHL RD.)(Now, who owes them a favour or 2?)
  14. Love this guy's truck! Old Briggs & Stratton roto-tiller (looks like it anyway) powering the big front-wheel drive mudders, drop sides and tailgate allow a flat-deck configuration, etc. JFL!
  15. In preseason, he could hardly skate; I fail to see how a broken hand had anything to do with that.
