I definitely believe the officials over-engage in game management in an attempt to create an unrealistic image of parity and that this likely comes as a directive from the league. I do not believe they do this to the extent that they consistently favour one team winning a game or series over any other or that the league would risk the catastrophe that would ensue if proof of such BS ever came to light.

Play Marky tomorrow then Thatcher on Sunday unless Vegas has a big lead early tomorrow (unlikely), in which case you give Demko the bulk of that game to show what he's got at this level and determine game 4 starter by how he looks. He didn't look out of place in game 1 and maybe he gets hot when given more time and a larger number of shots to contend with. If he looks super solid, give him the start on Sunday. If shaky, go back to Markstrom for remainder of series. Whoever (Marky) plays game 6, if needed, will play game 7 unless 6 is a blowout.

Glad that hit happened tonight and not a decade or two ago We'd likely have lost him for the rest of the playoffs I know Bettman and DoPS don't always get things right but I like to imagine Smith wouldn't have hit him shoulder to shoulder like that under older rules

Not disagreeing whatsoever. Just saying, he was given a role, he fulfilled it to the best of his ability and was a big part of our Round 1 success. Some of the comments seem to come from a place of total disregard for his contributions

All you folks trashing LE cuz we finally got Tofu back seem to forget the $&!# ton of great D work he put in to help us get here. Yeah, his contract sucks and he's not someone we'd give up anything to keep but he's part of the team. A bit more class for a benched teammate maybe?

Petey's is my fave but also love how Marky just kind of tosses it aside like he does with opponent shot attempts and showing he has no interest whatsoever in goal lights flashing in his vicinity.

Having a friend over for pizza and the games so won't be posting much at all during game but likely chime in on PGT. Have a blast everybody! Markstrom's got it sealed up and, Vancouver clears!

Wow... Certain others have caught this already and I remember it from the beginning of the game but... 13 seconds in, Marky handcuffs Huggy with a pass of the end boards and he coughs it up to the Booboo's forecheck Perron blasts one high and wide from right in the the slot. Beagle ends up getting things started 3:30 later but... Had that first turnover gone in? Who Knows? So Blessed! ; )

I don't drink often or a lot but a Friday night, pre-vacation, series-clinching game in the dog days of summer in one of the strangest years of all I've lived kinda demanded at least a bit of (over)indulgence Super stoked for Vegas but really don't even wanna start looking ahead at this time as this moment is just so very peaceful and exciting all at once Kinda wish there were 2 GDT each night. One for the glass half full or more crowd and another for the glass half empty or fully leaking crowd. So disheartening to be watching us dominate like that only to read someone talking about us getting crushed by Vegas. Seriously, wtf? I think what many of the critics or the, I'm only happy when we win 10 - 0 every game crowd fail to grasp is that the joy is in the wins AND the losses and the full drama of living through the peaks and valleys and enjoying a tight 2-1 loss to NJ just as much as a 7-1 trouncing of a hated rival I have a great buddy I watch a lot of games with but he literally gets up and leaves if we're in danger of losing or even losing a one goal lead in the last couple minutes. He misses so many edge-of-the-couch plays cuz he just needs us to WIN no matter what I get it. But man, life ain't like that This team has &^@#ing struggled to get where they are and know they are lucky to have not only earned their spot in the next round but to have been blessed by the hockey gods with the needed bounces etc. Looking forward to seeing Boston in the final &^@# those guys Thank the Universe for PVRs.... gonna go watch that game again now but with normal breathing
