There's advantages to either route. College players get a LOT more time in the gym, with trainers and skills practice. That generally translates to more size, strength and skills. All while getting an education (which also has its advantages). AHL players adjust more to a pro schedule.

I'm not convinced he makes the Canucks out of the gate. Seems he's going to need some time and coaching to adjust to North American ice/hockey. Never mind that even without signing any UFA forwards, he'll be in tough for a top 9 role (don't see him fitting a 4th line role). Sedin, Sedin, Sutter Baer, Horvat, Hansen Shink/McCann, Vey, Etem Dorsett, Zalewski, Virtanen/Gaunce Grenier, Kenins Not a lot of room there... And a two of four good, NHL ready players in Gaunce, McCann, Shink or Virt will be sent to Utica. I'd also LOVE for us to sign Okposo. Sedin, Sedin, Okposo/Sutter Baer, Horvat, Sutter/Okposo Etem, Vey, Hansen Dorsett, Zalewski, Virtanen/Gaunce You could argue that would allow us to sell high on Hansen (if we chose to) but I'm not convinced he'd beat out Shink/McCann (or possibly Virt) for that 3rd W role either... IMO, it's FAR more likely he heads to Utica and works towards a call up. Also, is there some reason we're unable to sign him to a 2 way deal? Something like $900k NHL / $300-400k AHL? Still pays him well in either league (not that i care, it's not my money...just curious).

He had what 2-3 solid scoring chances of his own and set up a good 4-5 nice passes/chances for his line mates with 8:33 TOI, playing with 4th liners. All while playing sound defensively. You're expectations are WAY out of whack and you're like the poster boy for lacking context.

I think Higgonzzz and Gwuantonamonce could be 2/3 of a good line.

A lot of people on CDC have MAJOR issues of factoring in context. You can see it in their evaluations of players from the Sedins or Edler to guys like Vey, Baer or Virtanen. Same with guys on the farm. Shinkaruk was a bust just last year for instance Context people, context.

Height is only one aspect of size FYI.

Freaking love this whole album. Anyone just listening to Sweet Disposition (while it is a GREAT tune), is missing out IMO.

Yeah that offciating last night... On a good note, Virt played quite well again I thought. Some good hits, used his speed, played well defensively, had that almost-goal and helped create a few other chances.
