  1. He had 51 points in 64 games and was a +30
  2. North Carolina is as red state as they come. They're fine with racist actions and politics. he did OK there on his first go around, that's likely all they're taking into consideration
  3. He's the only player ever to be bought out twice. Let that sink in. Do you really want that guy in the locker room?
  4. Most nights He was getting around 7 minutes of ice time with practically no pp time. He should get substantially more opportunity in Montreal. The scoring should reflect that
  5. He was decent in his time with Montreal but wasn’t going to be worth his qualifying offer of $2.9m Big, fast, gritty. Not much finish.
  6. Yeah. He’s going to get much more of an opportunity in Montreal and MSL has already shown he can bring out the best in young players.
  7. If that crap offer was all it would take to get Pesce the deal would be signed sealed and delivered already
  8. I called Poolman a cap dump. Regardless. You’re not offering value and Carolina is under no pressure to move Pesce. Even if they were they aren’t limited to dealing with Vancouver. They aren’t required to take whatever scraps Vancouver throws their way
  9. No. It’s Carolina giving up a great player and a high pick for a bunch of spare parts and a cap dump
  10. Not when you take acquisition cost into consideration. Your proposal was brutal for Carolina. They give up the best player and the highest pick and they get nothing of real value in return. Especially when they’re looking to make a cup run.
  11. No. It can’t be paid early. Myers agent specifically had them structure the bonus payment the way it is to make it harder to trade him. Teams aren’t allowed to vary from the terms of the contract just because it suits them better
  12. Teams haven’t been able to include cash in deals in decades.
  13. Karlsson just won his 4th Norris with a 101 point season on a terrible team. Yes. His age and contract are problems but saying he isn’t worth much (especially at 50% retention) is just wrong.
  14. If Vancouver were going to sign Besr they could have just tendered him his qualifying offer. I doubt they circle back to him while he’s an injured UFA. He really screwed himself by playing in the world championship with no contract
  15. Sounds like BS. A GM talking , on the record, specifically about a player under contract to another team as a trade target is tampering. Just ask Benning how that worked out for him when he expressed interest in Subban and Stamkos
  16. Yeah. I don’t see the upside of Rathbone that some others seem to. He’s not Hughes lite. At this point he’ll be lucky to be Mete lite
  17. Based on their roster strengths and weaknesses I’d assume the only guy they’d be interested in swapping Pesce for would be Kuzmenko. Not saying Vancouver should do it, only that he’s the guy that seems to make sense from their end
  18. Montreal hasn’t really been able to dress a healthy lineup in 2 seasons. I think they want to see what they have before they spend any assets and block all their young nhl ready kids
  19. I’d assume those lists have changed as teams have risen or fallen in and out of relevance
  20. Pretty hard to get anything for Bear considering his rights no longer belong to the Canucks
  21. Unless he can play either wing I doubt he’s going to see top line minutes on a healthy Canadiens team. Caufield is the top line LW. RHP may need to produce a little lower down the lineup. It’s also going to depend on if they have Dach slotted in as the 2C or the 1RW. Montreal has several options at C going into the season with Suzuki, Dach, Monahan, Newhook , Dvorak, Pitlick and Evans. it’s going to be really interesting seeing what MSL does with a healthy roster
