Save all our cap space for legit top 4’s and give guys like Brisebois, Wolanin, and Juulsen a shot.
Cant be paying 2+ mil for a bottom pair defender. And if we are that money should go to Schenn not Bear.
Schenn 33 will only get slower then he is..
I like Brisebois 25, Wolanin 27, Juulsen 25 but I don't think there # 6 NHL D men?
Bear 25 RD has shown he is a NHL #4 or #5 guy-- Well worth 1.8 -- 2.2 million range X 1 yr show me more..
Schenn 33 will want at least 1million or more will he even sign? Will get slower...

He’s waivers eligible now too, so they might not have wanted to risk a claim.
Canucks have so many D man so there will be some big decisions..Of course cap room will be made..
I would like to see Canucks Target Graves 28 summer, 6'5, 220- stay t home guy, gritty # 4 LD -- UFA 3.3 --3.7 million ?
1. Hughes 23 LD NHL TOP 10 D 2. Hroneck 25 RD - Exciting Top 30 NHL D man
3. Myers ( Will be traded after 5 million bonus is paid only 1 million owing)
4. Bear 25 RD will sign 2.5 X 2 yrs show me more 5. OEL 31 -sorry but we are stuck with this contract
6.Deremott 26 LD 7. Filip Johansson 23 RD NHL 2023-24- 8.Burroughs 28 LD toughness.
Sign Graves 28 LD 6'5-220 -
Juulsen 25-- Brisebois 25 - Wolanin 27 - ( -Poolman 29 RD- LTIR )

I believe he would have to be papered down and wasn't. He will play the rest of the season with Vancouver.
IMO; he is very likely to be qualified and on the Canucks next year as the 3rd or 4th LD.
Yeah I think they paper downed Podkolzin, Briesbois, Juulsen. Raty 20, C was only Canuck sent down Abby Friday

Forsell really really tearing it up in the SHL. Nineteen years old. Amazing. I hope he comes to the prospects camp in the fall.
I think he is signed with his SHL team for 2 more years..He has lots of talent can't believe he wasn't playing at WJ U20 this past December.

Guillaume Brisebois
Sent down to Abby
There were are few Ahl players sent down on paper and then brought back so they can play in AHL playoffs...
Podkolzin, Brisebois, Juulsen are all back with Vancouver.. Raty being only player sent down to stay..

Right age, but not sure where he would fit in. He's not a top 4 guy in my mind.
We could use his size and grit 900,000 RFA this summer-- Logan Stanley 6'6 -220 -- 25 yrs old -- LD -- # 6 guy

I sure liked Hoglanders game and he never scored in both games I watched.. His speed and chase on puck very exciting to watch this very good prospect..
Wonder if he gets called up or packaged for a very good young D man prospect?
Hope Canucks keep this speedy talented forward only 22 years old.

IMO they also made this trade because they feel Hronek is better than any defenseman they would target between pick 13 to 15 or so. Consensus is it will be forward heavy the first 15 picks....they probably like Hronek more than the guys in that range. Pretty much a given we are going forward with our first pick.
I agree with your post.. Also the player they pick this summer with NYI pick would take how many years before player can play in the NHL??
Petey is 24 and if you draft a player this year good chance it will be at least 3-- 5 years before there NHL ready?
I think Vancouver will make another big trade by Friday...

One guest on Sportsnet that watches lots of JR hockey had lots of positive things to say about Bloom 19 -6'2 ..
A bigger version of Lockwood and with development he could turn out to be a bottom 6 forward in 3 years.
I like the trade and another young prospect...I am thinking Abby next season...

I still think korpisalo has the tools and LA defensive metrics are great they done need a hero goalie and if they add gavirkov too
Korpisalo will be a very good goalie for LA.. Great trade for LA Kings they will finish 1st now..
1. LA 2. Oilers. 3.Vegas

Adding Joseph 23 ---- Pettersson 26 --
If you have to add Rathbone or someone else to make this great deal just do it...
Pettersson 26 -6'3 --will play 22 mins -- #2 or #3 D man -- good age and value
Joseph 6'2 - 23. - Can play lots of upside
Hope Vancouver can get a trade like this done....

To pitt: boeser (650,000 retained), Burroughs
to van: pettersson, 2nd round pick 2023
I’d like to have both Joseph and pettersson but I just don’t see pitt giving both up and blowing up the left side of their D
I agree I think Boeser will be moved Friday to Pittsburgh..would even retain 1 million... Lets make this deal.....
Vancouver get Petttersson 6'3 --27 yrs old in May -- 2 yrs @ 4 million -- will be #2 D man
Joseph 23 -6'2 - drafted 23 O/A 2017 -- Good upside could be #4 guy soon ELC 1 yr remaining..
Like this trade --Would even add Rathbone to make it work..

This is what I’m looking at.
When all is said and done they’ll be lucky to get one player out of that “haul”.
This is quantity and sure the more picks the more chances you have but the odds on those picks are not good.
I agree 100 percent..Looks like a haul but late picks.. Tampa has a small window 2-3 years and NJ Devils - NYR will be top 2 teams in east..
Boston will have 1--2 year window - Marchand 35 May ----Bergeron 37 -- Krejci 37 April --

No, but they traded their 2023, 2024 and 2025 1st's and their 2023, 2024 2nd's and their 2023 3rd. You don't think there are a few NHL players that will come out from those picks?
Traded 2025 - 1st = 20--22nd O/A
2024 - 2nd -- so like a 50th pick
2023 3rd so 80th O/A-- 4th like 110th O/A-- 5th rounder

Love Jeannot, but not at that price
I agree Tampa paid a big price. Tampa will not make fit to eastern final this year..Boston will knock off Tampa..
Hurricanes or NYR will win the east.

We need to be all over this. Jeannot is the type of player we desperately need. A true power forward of the game.Jeannot 25 - 6'2 has some skill can play up the line up if needed.. He scored 24 goals and 41 points last season.
The right age and style of player Canucks need to target with grit and toughness.. There will be lots of teams chasing Jeannot..

Ok, Winnipeg has a problem in that Dubois wants out and can force a trade, by signing a 1 year deal with Winnipeg. He just simply wants out and Mtl wants him, but does not really have what Winnipeg needs, because to do so would totally weaken their rebuild, albeit they would get Dubois, but Winnipeg is not going to want futures, as they are in a win now mode, while their core is still competitive. Vancouver is in a slightly different position and is not competing now. So this is what I propose, and IMO, involves a over-payment by us.
To Mtl............................Dubois and Lekkimakki
To Winnipeg..................JT Miller and 2026 conditional 1st (Top 10 protected )
To Vancouver.................Dach and a conditional 2023 6th OA, with the Canucks having the choice of Florida's 2023-1st or MTL's 2024 unconditional 1st
This is a Huge over payment by Vancouver, and once you stop puking, hear me out.............We receive a extremely good pick in a very deep draft, now the importance of this is that Vancouver receives $4,637,500 Gets a 6'4" 212 C/RW who is playing well, plus a conditional 7th OA pick in the 2023 draft. The added benefit is the age of the 2 contracts in Dach and Miller, and that Cap relief.
Winnipeg is in the unenviable position of having a difficult time signing players long term. This trade keeps them competitive short term and helps them build long term. Mtl gets their Dubois, and Lekkimakki, which pretty much makes it a even trade for them.
Vancouver walks into the draft with .....................6 OA*, 7 OA and 13 OA picks (Note* With the trade of Miller, you drop in position, so the 6th, stands more of a chance of being a 2 or 3rd OA, but who is counting?)
If the Mtl pick is 1st or 2nd over all, then the other conditions apply....aka...either Florida's 1st or Mtl's 2024 unconditional 1st.Vancouver's choice.
Jets will try and sign Dubois 24 - 6'3 #1 C ---- to a contract this summer 8 yrs X 9.2 million..
If they can't sign they will work a deal out with Montreal.. Starting with Dach 21 -6'4 - Guhle 20 6'2 D -- 1st rounder
Jets won't want Miller big no...

Lockwood had 18 points in 26 games in Abby this year and was one of their most consistent scorers and certainly one of their main impact players. He's a pretty complete, 200ft player.
To me it all comes down to his durability. If he can stay healthy and Krav flops, it's a huge win for NYR
NHL games 1 point -- 28 games Lockwood - Small depth for injuries not NHL future..
Kravtsov -- way more talent and size...

You are 100 percent wrong.. Big transition young man coming to North America his English wasn't good and hard for players to fit in ?
Did you forget we had Tryamkin and how hard it was for him??
You don't know what your talking about..Don't say Kravtsov is Virtanen????
Your comments are ridiculous,...
Kravtsov 6'3 -23 - Way more talented then Lockwood..
Lockwood 5'10 --24 - 1 GP NHL 28 -- G 0 -- A 1

Traded for a russian clueless jake virtanen
There's a reason he's a former 9th overall who didn't crack the team. Its called a BUST kids
