  1. Absolutely! Some of those games are against division rivals. If we go 20-0-0 we will squeak in for sure. Let's go baby!
  2. When the deadline rolled around yesterday I'll admit I was pissed. Really felt that we needed to shed cap asap and that management wasn't getting the job done. Now that I've had a chance to reflect, I'm reminded of the fact that you can't trade a Boes, Garland, Myers or even a Miller if no team wants them. And the reality is we are a bottom dwelling team trying to move under producing players. Nobody wants our garbage!!! I bet we would have had to add huge sweeteners to move any of those guys, which I'm glad Allvin wasn't willing to do. If this is going to take 3-5 years to build back up, then us fans need to not freak out in the first 6 months! Give it until 1 year from now at least before losing your minds. You can't ask a GM to rebuild or even retool, but then not give them a remotely reasonable amount of time to do it!
  3. Problem is we can't sign anyone with guys like Boes, garland, miller, Myers, OEL on the payroll. Moving someone.. anyone this TDL was what was going to allow that to happen. We're going to be over the cap. We're not signing any UFAs. Absolute garbage TDL. Especially if there was an offer of two 1st for miller.
  4. I can't think of a single TDL where I've been happy.... Why should this year be any different.
  5. I would argue that far more fans support it lol... However I will concede that the trade looks a little worse now that Allvin didn't move Boes, Garland or Miller and get some picks If the rumour of them turning down two 1sts for Miller is true then they blew it completely this TDL
  6. I was on board with absolutely every move up until now... Based on the assumption that we would move either Garland, Boeser or Miller for picks and some basic roster players. Without moving any of those guys, everything up until now dropped from B+ down to a C+
  7. There are a lot of hardcore fans that understand how the Hronek trade is a solid move too.
  8. Exactly. If we can't draft one with the pick, then we can only trade for one.
  9. You know what I mean. I'm not talking about burying contracts. Waivers etc. I'm talking about overall cap space on a day like today.
  10. Why don't you tell everyone what RHD you would have been planning on drafting this year with the NYI 1st or the 2nd we traded? Then you will need to say with 100% certainty this this unknown player will be a 0.5ppg producing RHD. Won't get injured, will have perfect development etc. Because management can't predict the future any more than you can, THATs why they got Hronek. A bird in the hand and all that.
  11. Give it a rest. Don't create something that isn't there. That's a very average cost (some could argue lower than average cost) to obtain a top 4 RHD. Hronek can take some of Myers money after next season.
  12. For me Lazar made one fatal mistake. He got injured early in the season which put him out for a good chunk of time. BUT... His first game back from injury he was a human wrecking ball. Recorded 6 hits in the first period. Solid energy. I was like "yes! A solid checking line. This is exactly what we need". Then for the rest of the season until now, he played nothing like that game. He showed what he is capable of, then he stopped doing it. Didn't even play that type of game 1/10. He never did again. It soured me on him.
  13. That's what I proposed in the Miller thread! But I added van receiving another 2nd and PIT receiving the 4th (NJD). It seemed very odd for PIT to grab Granlund.
  14. If the deadline ends with JT on the roster, and this rumour is somehow confirmed, then this is a huge miss for management. The 8m is savings alone next year gives us lots of money to get a decent UFA centre to fill the hole temporarily The two firsts? Come on. I can't believe management would be this incompetent
  15. You get the impression now that we are just stuck with Boeser. He has been available all season and there hasn't even been a credible rumour of a team actually wanting him. Even with van saying they will retain on him there's nothing.
  16. He sure didn't seem very excited to be playing here. I've watched him in Boston and the guy definitely has another gear when he wants to use it. He hardly ever tapped into that 2nd gear here in Van.
  17. I would still love to see Van and PIT come together on JT. To PIT JT Miller 2024 4th (NJD) To Van M Granlund 2023 1st 2024 2nd
  18. Trade panel made a very interesting point about Van and PIT still trying to make a trade for Miller where Van receives a player back they don't really want or need, but then flip that player to another team that wants him. This is the level of complication GMs are working on today.
  19. Totally fine with this trade. He wasn't working out. Aman had replace him in the centre position. A 4th plus $1m in cap relief is good work.
  20. We're all good. Myers off the books will help. Plus you get the feeling this management group doesn't plan on spending to the cap like Benning did. Clear they plan on always leaving themselves some wiggle room.
