  1. Myers is also a victim of circumstance or whatever you want to call it. Him and OEL together were terrible, absolutely terrible. But it doesn't mean they are individually that bad. Both of them need to have a reduced role and they can still be effective players. I wish Myers was paid $4.5m, and then we could actually justify dropping his minutes down to 14 minutes per game where I think he woudnt be as noticeably bad.
  2. Using the exception to try and prove the rule is a risky endeavor
  3. I've said this many times, Stetcher type players are average in regular season, but come playoffs these are the guys you need for a long run
  4. Yes! Guy is all heart. A true workhorse and would be a great voice in the room.
  5. I'm gonna say this signing is 2 years too late. Clearly Leafs are still chasing rather than buildihg
  6. Umm, they are paying him less to play than we are paying him not to play... 2.25m to play in the east is a good signing.
  7. Well of course! Everyone here would have been happy with OEL at 2.25m. You're statement makes no sense. It wont surprise anyone one bit if he is a super effective player getting 2.25m, because that's what he is and should be. Folks can hate him at 7m and love him at 2.25m because those are two complete different paychecks. Lol. Doesn't prove "the haters" wrong in any way
  8. Still 2 feet of snow on the ground in Yukon. Only have 3-4 guaranteed snow free months a year!
  9. Ha! Jokes on him! like we'd ever even consider signing him. Good luck in Nashville Loser! Am I doing CDC right?
  10. Oh man, I will say he seems to make sudden turns along the boards to shake attackers, which works out, but he turns his back quite often to oncoming players putting himself in a very vulnerable position. I hope a coach picks up on this and helps him protect himself better before he gets seriously injured.
  11. So he felt like he was some wonderboy genius trying to educate the educated on why his behavior is justified and the system is the real problem? The ego on this guy.
  12. Seriously? Saying how Miller expresses personality is the same is Binnington is way off. Miller often takes his frustration out on himself, not saying I like it, but it's nowhere near as bad as Binnington having a full on temper tantrum, getting thrown out of games and intentionally trying to hurt players. He is such a joke.
  13. Is the consensus that these are tattoos? I honestly couldn't tell
  14. Thats not showing personality. JT Miller shows personality. A blocker punch to an unsuspecting player for incidental contact is just dirty and gutless. If they dont suspend him now, it only encourages him to continue. I wouldnt be surprised if the Blues are secretly happy about this. Get him and his garbage save percentage off the ice for a couple games.
  15. Binnington is such an embarrassment for the Blues. Guy had one good half season and thinks he owns the league. Great to see the DOPS actually get a suspension right!
  16. Exactly, Maybe folks dont remember, but there was a period of time where Hughes went down (I think it was 2 seasons ago). OEL was moved onto PP1, and they moved him away from shut down guy, and back to puck moving offensive D. He was like a totally different player, racking up points. I'm not saying OEL is going to turn it around and become amazing, but I do think if given different minutes against other teams weaker lines, he could still bea positive rather than a negative for a couple more years.
  17. We're definitely missing a legit 3C. Strong faceoff guy who defends well and can take heat away from our top two lines. We're missing a top 6 scoring winger for the second line. Garland and Boeser aren't getting it done. Mikhyev should be the guy but he hasn't been around long enough to prove that one. Podz hasn't shown it quite yet. We are missing a true, stay at home shut down defenseman. Like Tanev. Hamhuis, Bieksa type player. Reliable, stays back, makes hits to break up the rush. Then we are missing 1 or 2 young guys who are on entry level contracts to become a nice surprise and play above their pay grade to save on cap space. We don't have any of those. That's why drafting is still important in a retool. You need cheap contracts for skilled players filling roles.
  18. IMHO The issue isn't toughness in response to things happening to Canucks payers. (well thats part of it).... The issue is we don't have any players that initiate the toughness, forcing other teams to defend themselves, look over their shoulder etc. Rarely are we the ones that drive the physical play, or make the big hit. To me, the issue is we have no one who goes around playing physical and forcing other teams to take notice. I want us to take the initiative, not respond to. Example look how Myers took the initiative and dumped Tavares. That was amazing and told Toronto that they cant walk all over us. We need that.
  19. He never was tough. He was just type cast into a role he clearly doesnt want to play.
  20. And our shoddy goaltending, which seems to have turned a corner!
