  1. You're dreaming with that trade offer. Actual realistic trade proposal that they might consider is, Podz, Rathbone, our 2023 2nd and NYI's 1st. Even that might not get it done
  2. Well yes, but now we're icing almost a solid AHL D core... So no Stillman still equals tank!
  3. WE'RE RICH B***H! We're literally rolling in salary cap dollars now baby! Hahahahaha!
  4. $1.4m in salary relief is something dude. And we got it for free basically. Are you really not able to see 1 step in ahead on these things?
  5. I guess it totally depends on what you or Allvin) value more. 1. Retaining $1m on Myers, so essentially $5.5m in free cap space to use this summer and moving on... So cap flexibility. OR 2. Keeping Myers and trading for a 2nd at the TDL next year. You could argue based on what's been traded and added as a sweetener... $5.5m in free cap space is worth a lot more than a 2nd.
  6. IF miller does get traded, it's not because of Miller now, or Miller in 3 years, it's because of what and who Miller will be in exactly 4 years. A major contract issue as well as a liability in the defensive side of the ice, and likely the dressing room. Miller is a good hockey player, but he is not the kind of guy you lock in for 7 years. That's way too long for the demons to come out. It's basically move him now for an asset, or move him in 4 years and we pay the asset.
  7. Yup. He is a dirty little thing. Think Kadri but with less skill. Wouldn't be oppose to the Canucks finally having that type of player again though.
  8. Basically a Schenn but for forward. What we really need are veteran forward grinders. Guys like Ruutu, Torres, Lappierre, Dorsett, Roussell (when he wasn't a liability). Give this team a little edge. Sadly I do believe these types of players are all but run out of the league though. But I truly believe if we have a real 4th line, the way they used to be, this team culture would fix itself, AND take a ton of heat off Petey.
  9. I can see it in his last 3 years, simply because he does seem like the kind of guy who will mentally shut it down when the going gets too tough.
  10. It does seem like he is a polarizing player and as a result you have fans that view him in polar opposite light. He definitely does things that I like, but the things he does that I don't like are always bubbling under the surface. I just know the type of player he is, and if he starts drastically under performing his contract, he isn't going to be some easy going guy like OEL, he is going to become a very bad problem.
  11. No way. You move Miller now. Yes the next 4 years MIGHT be good for the team, but the last 3 years will be a nightmare. Move him now or we will be stuck with another OEL type contract, with the addition of a piss poor attitude later down the line.
  12. I blame Rocky IV for everyone's love on Tree. We keep thinking that he is some kind of Ivan Drago on ice. Giant Russia whose sole purpose is to destroy. But alas, he is not.
  13. My first thought when i worked my way through the OP was wow, thats a lot of work, good for him.. Then your first comment just cuts it down! Oh man, thats cold!
  14. Ok, you've convinced me! Trade him before he gets hurt.
  15. What? Thats like saying that since Schenn has won a cup, he is automatically an elite level defender,..... What someone's done in the past, does not dictate what they are currently. So far, JR has not done anything to prove himself with this organization. In fact you could argue that his tenure so far his barely been above an "F"
  16. I'm really on the fence on whether his value to the Canucks is more than a late 2nd. He does provide some strong veteran leadership, which is needed during these dark times... but if I'm leaning one way or another, its that I am in agreement with you. I would pull the trigger for Calgarys 2023 2nd.
  17. Right, I understand what youre saying. My bad. I'll need to think about a good response. I'd imagine there are a couple playoff bound teams that would be willing to trade some good D in the summer for a couple 1st's (Rangers, Boston, Maybe Arizona, Carolina, NJ). But nothing will happen before the TDL while those teams are still contending.
  18. Honestly, I think the response from whichever GM gets the 1st overall is that Bedard is not available. I doubt the GM even bothers to entertain trade offers. Winning the 1st overall is literally winning the lottery. There isn't anything better. Whoever gets the 1st will be more than happy with that, and will have zero interest in any trades.
