Regardless how it was taken, he has added fuel to the fire when he returns home. He is going to draw in more fans to watch his return to Rogers Arena, matchups between the two teams, and on TV creating more drama and anticipation. I can see how this part is cool, honest, and adding more personality to the game. If anything this has added more entertainment which is great for the game...and easier to separate from him now. With all due respect to his tenure in Vancouver, great ambassador for the team, he was here for 9 seasons and did a whole lot of nothing to help us get to a playoff position. He can crap on the organization if he wants and rightfully so, but he was also part of the problem of mediocrity here.

I liked Studnicka tonight. Physical, tenacious, and smart with the puck. I hope a strong summer of training will allow him to be a much more effective checking forward next season. I like the tools he has. I didn't like Beauvillier, Kuzmenko, Garland, Dries, and Boeser tonight. Really thought they all struggled to engage physically and keep up with the pace of the game. Also this group doesn't show a lot of two way intelligence, we need more wingers who can play better defensively but also just engage more in the battle.

Myers again shows he can't read plays properly and doesn't have a mind for the game. Petey sees him skating into an area, makes the pass, and Myers just bails on the play allowing CGY to gain possession and nearly score.

Garland has had a tough game tonight. He can't seem to keep up with the speed and physicality of the game tonight. I think you have to move him before Boeser. He just doesn't bring the pesky style anymore and its not optimal having a 5 mil player on your third line, provide not a lot of offense and doesn't contribute to special teams.

Unacceptable. Dries and Joshua were too aggressive there on the PK and left Myers and Burroughs too far spread out to get Kadri.

I haven't liked the defensive efforts from our wingers outside of Joshua, Di Guiseppe, and Studnicka. The rest haven't been hard enough on the board battles, and haven't shown a lot of defensive conscientiousness. Shows the lack of two way intelligence depth we have on the wings.

Its that kind of play Garland that drives Tocchet crazy. Cannot do that on the powerplay. Gotta get that puck in deep.

Im not sure. The story I read was apparently Tocchet while coaching Arizona was showing how to do a board battle, and reversed hit OEL and it pissed OEL off. Regardless that kind of coaching can work for a while, but that style eventually becomes long in the tooth and players will eventually just tune it out after a while.

Tocchet's looks /60 at Kuzmenko needs to be tracked. Seems like he has found his new whipping boy.

Klimovich having a strong game winning board battles and on the forecheck. Hopefully Colliton continues to help him develop a more rounded game while growing his confidence offensively.

Rathbone looks very confident tonight. Something we didn't see in his game with Vancouver. He needs to find a way to bring that same confidence with him to the NHL.

I haven't watched an Abby game in a while. But you can tell that they play with a lot of structure right off the bat.

Myers is stupid, almost green light destroyed JT for no reason on the PK.

I've harped on Boeser for years for not moving his feet, this game, he is having a motor like I haven't seen before. Boeser is a good skater, he just doesn't keep his feet moving majority of the time. He looks much better skating wise tonight and the past few weeks

Management group did well last season getting Bains, Johansson and Aman. Getting Tolopilo, Hirose, Sasson and McWard this season is solid piece of work. Restocking the system even if these aren't high end pieces, but helps raise the bottom end of the development group.
