  1. Has 8 goals and 13 points mostly playing as a 3rd/4th liner. Wonder if there would be interest in him as a depth player. Late round pick for him would be nice.
  2. Man if thats what it takes to move 4.5 mil, man I can only imagine the cost to get rid of Myers. Good piece of work by Chicago.
  3. I like Studnicka's motor but still unsure what kind of player he is. Still waiting to see what his bottom line/definitive trait is as a player.
  4. Is waivers still active after the trade deadline? Perhaps he comes back up after that? He has played well and deserves a longer look. I'd imagine they keep him there in Abbotsford to qualify for the playoffs roster (I assume they will paper down Podkolzin, Raty, Brisebois, and Silovs as well on trade deadline day to help qualify them for the AHL playoffs too).
  5. A cap strap team might take a waiver claim on Tierney. Wealth of NHL experience and still is a reliable defensive player. Just no bottom line offensively which is why he is where he is. Makes only 750K, would be good insurance depth for like Tampa, Colorado, NYR, or Winnipeg who are close to the cap limit.
  6. I am game for free prospects, especially those that can move the puck and show good mobility. As is most of our dman have issues moving the puck that are not named Hughes or Bear.
  7. I hope for the sake of Luke and his wife's pregnancy, that this deal gets done quickly so they can adjust and settle in for the newborn. I can imagine how stressful this is for him and his wife.
  8. Seeing what Ben Chariot got last trade deadline, I wouldn't be surprised closer to the deadline, that Schenn's value increases a little bit. Chariot garnered a 1st, 4th, and Ty Similanac (2nd round pick) from Florida. I'm not saying Schenn is near the same level of Chariot, because he is 3 years older than him. But numbers wise, Chariot had 18 points before being dealt and played a complementary role to key dman for the Habs like Weber and Petry, allowing them to succeed. Schenn does the exact same role, proven cup winner, RHD, and 1 point away from a career high of 22 points. Maybe the management is holding out for a much higher return, I would be just happy with a mid round pick, but seeing that bigger returns from the past have garner for similar archetype dman, wouldn't be surprised that the asking is even higher than the mid round pick. Other comparable deals made in past TDL's for Stay at home dman (2nd to 3rd pairing guys) in the last 3 seasons. 1) Canucks traded Hamonic to Ottawa for a 3rd round pick 2) Anaheim traded Josh Manson for Drew Helleson (2nd round pick) and a 2nd round pick 3) Arizona traded Ilya Lybushkin and Ryan Dzingel for Nick Ritchie and a 2nd round pick. 4) Washington traded Jonas Siegenthaler to NJ for a 3rd round pick. 5) Montreal traded Marco Scandella to St Louis for a 2nd and a 4th round pick 6) Anaheim traded Eric Gudbranson to Pittsburgh for a 5th round pick.
  9. As much as I hate the Leafs, this is a solid piece of work for Dubas. They are at the stage where its all in for them, their window won't continue to stay open forever. They need to capitalize while Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Rielly are in their prime years. Adding ROR and Acciari really gives them veteran depth in key positions. They will certainly add another piece, maybe a veteran goalie to the mix to solidify that group.
  10. Not sure I would've chosen this game to test Silovs...would've chosen a weaker team like Philly this weekend. Hope Silovs does well though.
  11. Great deal for the Kings. Just plays a really good defensive game and underrated in his pest game. He can really get under the skin of the opposition - he plays his role very well, while supporting Drew Doughty on the first pairing. He has really freed Doughty up to be more offensive. Wish we had someone like Mikey on our blueline with his set of skills.
  12. Not sure I expect him to get NHL game action, has been solid in the AHL, but I don't get the feeling he is ready to face NHL shooters. Don't want to break his confidence like this organization did with DiPietro. This is likely a call up to reward him for a solid past few months for Abbotsford, sit in the pressbox, see the game speed and soak in the NHL atmosphere while also making an NHL salary for a bit.
  13. Its likely Luke Schenn and his wife wanting to be together. I doubt Schenn wants to travel back and forth, and rather just have his wife with him so he can be part of the process. Schenn in his interview said that when he was with Tampa during the bubble, left his wife for 90 days with a 2 month old baby (2nd child) and echoed that he and his wife do not want to go through something like that again. So my guess is that Schenn wants his wife settled along with him.
  14. Martin has worked really hard to find his game at the NHL level. I hope he gets another shot at it whether with us or another team, seems like a good dude despite some holes in his game.
  15. I'd wonder how many he is taking on his strong side vs weak side. I remember a few years back he would always go on his weak side and slap the puck which funny enough became his strong side draw.
  16. I'm scared to ask when the former Canuck wins - how many Toffoli has.
  17. Good things happen when you don't gift wrap the puck to the opposition.
  18. Aiyo Suck it Bo....but also I miss you, love you, comback....but suck it.
  19. I mean, I would be interested to see what they would be willing to offer up. Mercer, Nemec, 1st + would get me thinking tbh.
  20. Physical dman, bottom pairing mostly, but he has been playing higher up the lineup, mostly playing with Erik Karlsson. I can assume Schenn's value may be just a tad more but I dont see a high return for Schenn. Maybe a third round pick.
