  3. Nino Niederreiter is available for 23' draft capital.
  4. FRONT OFFICE BUDGET 2023/24 Player Relations: $ 27 million Player Development: $ 0 Medical: $ 0 Minors: $ 28 million
  5. The league supports causes and goes at length to assist clubs with preparations and the bells and whistles for these events. Teams can still freely produce themed jerseys and they can be purchased. The league is simply eliminating the problem by removing warmup jerseys as it removed focus from these themed nights and disappointingly the reaction of people who can'thandle that not everybody feels a need to fall in line. I never said I was ok with sport betting or the glitched ads on the boards among many other areas needing improvement and simply removing warmup jerseys does not = league not supporting causes. Nobody has to like James Reimer or what he has to say thats for sure. Never came at you or anyone about reject political correctness at all.
  6. Its not about players feeling bad about how they are perceived because they exercised their right. Its an indictment of where society is at, you have people screaming for inclusion, freedoms and equality. Those same people are shaming and demonizing people for being themselves. Oh the irony. A player income or the benefits/perks of being in professional sports has nothing to do with this. You've got it backwards, the NHL didn't take a hit for the announcement today, they did not cave either. The NHL saw the crap spewed and misguided anger from last year and simply eliminated the issue. Nobody caved, there is no outside pressure that is going to change this. Society and the need to be politically correct has swung so far left its angering and pushing away people who were on the left. The league didn't push drama on people for not conforming. The league went out of their way to promote cause themed nights in their arenas and " people " couldn't handle freedom of expression if it meant not everyone was on board lol. Removing jerseys puts the focus back on cause themed nights and more importantly for fans, sports fans just focus on the games. Sponsors are learning a lot right now about certain actions taken by fellow corporations and seeing how people really feel. You will see little to no backlash from the corporate world here at all.
  7. Nhl players chose not to wear jerseys. It was their choice and they all got ripped for it, called bigots and demonized. That was the result of a choice. The NHL promoted themed events and organizations brought in speakers, guests, decorated and promoted these events. How is removing jerseys because they caused people to flip their crap a bad thing? Does zero to take away from events, frankly puts the focus back on the events versus players and jerseys. Its not the league that needs to do something here or own up to something.
  8. 110% If you think the NHL is a disappointment or dropped the ball here you're not paying attention. Themed nights were huge and will continue to be as they have been. No jerseys eliminates a major distraction and issue bred not from a few people expressing their rights but from frankly society and media inability to respect expression and demonizing those not falling in line with a politically correct narrative. Good on the NHL for standing up, sure they were listening to the players union as well here.
  9. Why is Boeser impossible to move now ? do you believe the Friedman's of the World when they suggest competing clubs like the player, would be ideal if one or two million less caphit but the deal breaker was his remaining term lol. He produces and is likely not moving because he holds value to the Canucks moving forward. 101st in scoring last year among all forwards.
  10. No more pressure than any other year. Always pressure to ensure you grab the right player with a pick.
  11. Question/confirmation re: Buyouts: So a player with a NMC can be bought out of their contract without a doubt. The grey area is a player say with a NMC cannot be placed on Waivers or traded etc at anytime so does one still place the player on Unconditional Waivers ( CDCGML requirement to buyout a player ) for the purpose of a buyout as we are instructed in the CBA or is there something we should adjust so as like in real life a player with a NMC does not require Waivers before being bought out ? Thank you. @canuck2xtreme @Squeak @aGENT
  12. TRADE REPORT! The New Jersey Devils having just earned their third CDCGML Championship in franchise history have started making preparations for the upcoming off season. The team has already moved out a couple veterans, with another big deal being finalized. Devils forwards Mats Zuccarello, Nino Niederreiter, William Karlsson, and Ivan Barbashev have received interest from competing clubs but nothing has been worked on too in depth to this point. As the Draft is approaching the team has secured the 22nd, 54th, and 70th overall selections. It is very unlikely these picks move and while anything can happen the team is looking to make selections at this year's Draft. Some discussions have taken place in regards to adding a franchise changing player and remain ongoing. The team will look to move out one more forward for a futures/picks type return before resetting the offseason budget for July onwards.
  13. It is not a real world example of damage we can expect. The Canucks in no scenario last year, this upcoming year or further along are going to be paying more then minimum for a backup netminder. Martin was the sexy and popular signing for a cheap back up the prior off season, throw in a garbage year by a team struggling to defend and the starter gone to injury and what do you expect. Silovs make no mistake is the future starter here, Ian Clark has been licking his chops on this kid since day one in the organization. He is not going to require a 2,3 deal at a caphit in the $ 2m plus range until he pushes Demko right smack in the middle of $ 4m penalty years of 25/26 and 26/27 and then guess what ? the penalty goes back to $ 2 million per. All the while the salary cap will be at that time around $ 100 million. Its a nice story but it is not crippling in any way, this move is not ideal but it brings a resolution to a problem on this team and brings this management group closer to building their defense. This is the same crap, tiring yet comical that gets spewed after any move by the team by a segment of "fans" here who think the team has no idea what it is doing and question or belittle every move then go on to complain about the next issue so they can complain when a move is made to resolve it and so on lol. Yawn.
  14. CONTRACT TERMINATION: The New Jersey Devils unfortunately have terminated the contract of goaltender David Hrenak as he has signed a two year deal in Europe. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/hockey/news/david-hrenak-heading-back-to-europe/
  15. @canuck2xtreme the Devils thus far have qualified: Cole Koepke
  16. The cap penalties over the coming years will not be felt as strongly as people worry about. You will see a sharp increase in cap over a few years coming very soon. Its not a problem it just optically doesn't look good.
  17. maybe short sighted, maybe a good move. But maybe people could also see that the owner of your hockey team is willing to bite BIG dollars in trusting his management group in building a winner. We spend money, but tickets and merchandise. The guy that owns the team will pay what ? 20 million dollars to try and right past wrongs.....just a thought.
  18. New Jersey forward Mats Zuccarello has come up in a few inquiries of late. The top line producing forward whom has great chemistry with Kirill Kaprizov on a Playoff club may be made available for the right return. The Devils are interested in adding draft capital and/or adding to the team's defense.
  19. For all GMS YOU MUST QUALIFY ANY RFA YOU INTEND TO RETAIN VIA PM TO AN AGENT. you can post in thread as well BUT MUST PM AN AGENT YOUR QUALIFYING OFFERS or said players will not be qualified.
  20. I agree in terms of the salary cap. As GM I made moves and preparations based on the real cap number. The increase is disappointing and affects me. Decisions were made re: Dispersal based on available cap. That said it was put through by the league and as we all have the same number to work with and it does not change the floor I feel with exception of some plans being undermined across the board a little more funny money to play with is fair. I believe discussions are in the works to make it harder to bury cap before this next season starts. That would be a bonus. Some shady GMs had NHL players waived and sitting in the minors this year. No no.
  21. You can go down the path of such narratives but when your a solid deep team firing on all cylinders playing like a machine many a team have played to that level and little to no pims can happen. Nothing was gifted to anyone, Florida earlier on played wrong between the whistles and you don't get breaks when after each whistle arms are flailing punches thrown and hacking sticks out of hands and slashing. Its not rocket science. Vancouver was nearly that good before and almost won it all. Is what it is.
  22. New Jersey Devils 2023 CDCGML Champions The New Jersey Devils would like to congratulate @aGENT and the Colorado Avalanche on a hell of a season and a great run this post season! Further admiration and hats off to the teams we had to battle through in @lethunder, @da.moose, and @Relyt Krets. To be the best you got to beat the best! Much appreciation for all the hours of time given by all our members here during another great season. Whether it be @canuck2xtreme for going beastmode keeping this game updated and together, it still surprises me that ability. Whether it be all the volunteers and agents and all the GMs that have put their mark on this season. Thank you! New Jersey is thrilled to have earned our third Championship since league inception, its truly humbling and an amazing feeling ( now I know how @lethunder feels haha ). Even sweeter to bring Jonathan Marchessault back to New Jersey this year and see him dominate and earn the Conn Smythe. Some big decisions were made this season and they paid off, extremely happy to see are hopes and decisions work out. Thanks again everyone on an amazing season! Yeah baby!!!
