  1. TRADE DEADLINE REVIEW! The New Jersey Devils were active behind the scenes on Trade Deadline Day, speaking with several teams and keeping discussions on multiple fronts ongoing up to the deadline the team did accomplish their goal of changing up the defense to better suit a Playoff run this season while adding overall Playoff depth. On the cusp of a major deal in the works at early light yesterday morning the team ended up having to back off and what started out looking very good fell apart early leaving the management group to go back to the drawing board on one front. The team pushed to find the right players, making calculated risks on adding players with term in what we see as good Playoff fits. After steady back and forth the Devils were positioned to secure a deal with the Flyers, GM @Rush17 was generous with his time on this day and his efforts working out a deal is much appreciated. The Devils obtained veteran forward Yanni Gourde from Philadelphia for the Blackhawks 2nd round pick in 2024 ( because like I am going to use a draft pick right ? ). The team made inquiries into a handful of defensemen as well as spent a lot of time trying to find a way to move salary off the books. Having a Playoff heavy roster already the decision was made to invest in adding another Playoff defenseman, the trick was to at the same time find a deal to move out a non-Playoff defenseman as earlier in the day youngster Nils Lundkvist was assigned to Atlantic city in a paper move to ensure room on the active roster. After a few failed attempts to add Playoff depth on the blueline and a shocking reluctance to move off our 24' 1st round pick, we made the call to move out our first rounder to help solidify a deal to bring in defenseman Alex Pietrangelo. Much thanks for the time involved on this transaction to GM @theo5789 of the Canucks. Sifting through options the Devils made a late call to the Canucks to work on securing a deal that would see the team move out salary. This is where long time Devil, Torey Krug signed out of college and part of two championships in New Jersey was moved. A very difficult decision to follow through on, but needed at this point in our team's cycle and Krug's stage in his career. New Jersey wanted to bring in another defenseman with Waivers eligible flexibility to help ensure room for Nils Lundkvist on the active roster. Having identified nearly a half a dozen young defensemen we targeted as players we want to develop into our active roster we were able to secure former first round pick and very reliable two-way defenseman, 22 year old Tobias Bjornfot. Many thanks to Vancouver for the time working on this deal while being busy. Overall the Devils added some more scoring punch in the forward group as well as bring in a productive top defenseman for the Playoff push while also adding a very good prospect we envision being a part of the Devils moving forward. Thank you to all the GMs involved in discussions throughout the day, screw you to the one's that snagged pieces I was looking for or refused to trade with me at the end of the day! Thanks guys

  10. TRADE REPORT! The New Jersey Devils on Trade Deadline day are actively available on CDC and Discord all day leading up to the deadline. The team will continue exploring trade options around non-playoff assets or fringe playoff assets with an aim to add playoff pieces we feel give us the best opportunity to get into the playoffs and hopefully make some noise at the dance! Teams are encouraged to get in touch, flexible and open to many scenarios.
  11. CONTRACT CLAUSES! Evening GMs, as tomorrow's Trade Deadline is fast approaching and set for 8pm PST just a reminder if you are considering requesting or inquiring about a player's contract NMC, NTC, L-NTC etc please give yourself some time to get a message to myself. The process involves multiple exec/agent types getting you an answer so if you try to get a player to waive in the final minutes you risk missing out on having that processed. Thank you

  20. No you are good, we were just teasing you, trying to break you down is all....after all what are friends for ?
  21. the player was acquired by signing in the offseason. He's good.
  22. I just saw this my apologies. I believe you are fine to assign the player as he meets the waivers thresholds to not need waivers for assignment.
  23. @Primal Optimist while you are correct that the player is under the threshold for 24 year olds being he has played 96 NHL games and the threshold s 100 games there is the following in the CBA: bolded and italicized 5.4 – Waivers Waivers is set as active league-wide from the first day of the regular season to the final day of the regular season. Players can freely be placed, assigned, and recalled after these dates. There is no recall Waivers. Any player that has exceeded the Waivers Exemption threshold is required to pass through waivers in order to be assigned to the minors after the start of the season. Waivers Exemption Thresholds 23 years old or younger - 150 NHL game threshold (100 games for goaltenders) 24 years old or younger - 100 NHL game threshold (75 games for goaltenders) 26 years old or younger - 50 NHL game threshold (25 games for goaltenders) To place a player on waivers, you simply post in the thread that you are placing that player on waivers. The waivers placement must be in its own post and clearly phrased. Waivers assignments that do not follow this format will not be processed and the player will not be on waivers. Players will remain on waivers for 24 hours. - In order to claim a player, post a Waivers Claim post clearly phrased in its own post indicating your desire to claim the player. The claim must be made within the 24 hours window. After the 24 hours period expires, an executive member will post whether the player has cleared waivers, or if they have been claimed, tagging parties involved. - A player that is on waivers will remain in their roster position until either: • The player has cleared waivers and been assigned elsewhere. • The player has been claimed by another team. (Once a player has been claimed, their roster spot will become available for call-ups/replacements etc.) - Players that are claimed by more than one team will be awarded to the team that is ranked lowest in the overall league standings at the beginning of that calendar month. - Teams who claim a player will move to the bottom of the league in waiver claim priority for the remainder of the calendar month. The waiver claim priority list will reset on the morning of the 1st of each month in accordance with league standings at that point. - In the event a team claims two players in one waiver claim PM, priority will be given to the player listed first. The team would be moved to the bottom of the claim priority list for the second player listed. - Unclaimed players can either be placed into your clubs minor league system or back onto the active roster. Your team must designate where your player is to go either at the time of being placed on waivers, or shortly after the 24 hour waiver period has expired. If a player clears waivers, they will not be subject to waivers for the 14 day period after they cleared. - Players claimed on waivers cannot be assigned to their new clubs minor league affiliate without clearing waivers again. - When a player is claimed, both the team that waived the player and the team receiving the player incur a waivers fee of $50,000 chargeable against the salary cap.
