  1. I think the idea is Boeser gets retained in the 1.5m ranger bringing his cap closer to Pettersson's so the deal can work. Pittsburgh has been open to moving Pettersson for some time, an indictment on his level of play or not he is a legit NHL defenseman. Add him with Joseph an up and coming dman youve replaced a winger with two NHL dmen that upgrade on the dmen that have been moved and are much younger. I don't think we are getting the two defensemen back with retaining under a million.
  2. @canuck2xtreme is the man getting things done here.
  3. I don't see a goaltender coming back in a deal around Demko from Buffalo. I think Demko buys you strength on the blue line or one a very good prospect piece.
  4. but his contract is exempt from the 50 contract limit for some reason so we did move a contract without taking one.
  5. I think adding Bloom is a good add for the organization. He has great skating, hockey IQ and a very good shot. Nice to have another good prospect in the system and to remove a player off the active roster not in the future plans of the club.
  6. you know every time you post that some jerk comes along with like 10 roster moves lol
  7. its all fun, I am talking more about guys on the radio or " analysts " that push something could happen then right by the deadline say " maybe the draft is a better time "...then it gets pushed to the draft and talked up then near the draft its all " this is the kind of deal you see in the offseason "...so again it gets talked up towards the offseason and again the timeframe is moved....Sat did that for three years on Myers lol
  8. Demand should certainly be peaking out East right now on a couple clubs not yet making that push. Carolina too often has looked for those cap dump or easy deals like Pacioretty and Burns deals though they gave up a good tender in Makiniemi...they have yet to give an all in type of statement.
  9. Yeah I hate that type of discussion, I mentioned before on 650 listening to Sat and Co....every time we near a deadline re: draft, free agency, start of season, trade deadline the goal posts get moved so to speak and what was once talked up as something that could happen gets moved to " well its a better move you might see by the draft " and on and on....comical really. Either way the Canucks are likely cemented to Miller until he is 33 yrs old, at which time 17 teams open up as potential suitors, keeping in mind by that time an 8m per contract will be more compared to say a 6m per contract or less as we move forward. The deal is very trade friendly. Understanding that, one can see that a handful of serious contenders that are seeing a shrinking pool of legit top tier producing playoff type forwards available there are certainly clubs like Carolina, Vegas ? you name it who could be looking at him as a four year deal player who could move on after that...as in he could be locked in to a contender for four years, you know a good term of contending window for many potential suitors....
  10. agreed, I don't see Vancouver moving him but he is valuable and some teams as we draw nearer to the deadline will be more inclined to explore the option.
  11. I don't now, those half a dozen members who left CDC or picked different teams to follow but remain on CDC really made ownership and management here take notice lol
  12. That is the kind of stuff that cannot be understated. Sure we should temper our excitement but the kid is joining a very welcoming environment and a coach that just showed discipline towards Kuzmenko ( CDC was losing their minds about him sitting ) and is steering him in the right direction to learn to play properly. Kuzmenko has been putting the time in, Podkolzin has been putting the time in and both have been rewarded. Kravtsov was given no such opportunities to learn in New York let alone have fellow countrymen, friends going through what it takes to make the lineup. The Ranger coaches have a history of not working with or giving opportunity to young players needing that coaching and direction. Look at Zac Jones, he is not a dog crap of a player he is in the same boat and give him a fresh start with opportunity and who knows.
  13. uh oh personal attack territory now haha Not defending him at all, he spat as he was getting charged on by Doughty, even turned his head away. If the refs or league feels its a penalty fine, if someone thinks the kid should pay and get suspended for it that's their decision but seems kind of lame if it was accidental. I simply thought it could be overblown. Don't get me wrong the only time I ever got put in the principal's office in school was knocking out a guy who thought it was funny to spit on my face, so I get it, disgusting yeah.
  14. @canuck73_3you're just copying me with a wat wat now lol
  15. he starts turning his head away from Doughty and spits as Doughty is coming at him. So lame. Take fighting and physical play out of the game now players can't spit......have you seen the ice by the benches and around the goal lol. Such crap that this is even being discussed.
  16. exactly, people using a board to express their opinions or ideas and to debate is kind of the point of this place yes ? no ? hahaha On Miller - could have been moved sure, but I think going back to last year the new management group saw Miller as the type of passionate player the team needs moving forward versus a Horvat ( the unpopular decisions comment Rutherford eluded to ). I think Miller's body language and expression was better last year and he was emerging as a real leader. This is what the team sees and is why he will remain a Canuck. Age doesn't matter, we all think everyone has to be 22 years old and certainly not a day older then 24 to be a part of this team building and working towards being a contender in future. Not the case, its why the same people arguing miller is going to be too old or doesn't fit the " timeline " also are screaming for Schenn to remain in Vancouver, you need quality veterans and experienced players in the locker room.
  17. I feel like I've read this tone all too often from media and fans about the team this year only to find out the opposite is true and the Canucks have a very good standing among their peers in the NHL. Very possible the trade is already completed and the team is giving the Schenn's time to prepare for their new family member and al the preparations involved with that and Luke being traded.
