    i would rather the canucks come out ok in the first but save their energy and play hard in the 2nd half of the second period and follow through to the third period...our defence is horrible so... come into the third behind or tied and make a game out of it... we suck with the lead... that should be obvious by now...

      If you have ever played sports, and you probably have, you know that there is very little in the way of on/off switches as far as compete and effort are concerned. You don't tell players to "try a little less" ever. That is flat out ridiculous. The only way to change sucking with the lead is to improve while having it, not to have it less. 

       

      Give me a break man.

       

      We do have a very young roster tonight though, and there will be learning curves over the next few seasons as these guys mature into regular NHL'ers. In no way do I advocate tempered starts as part of that plan.
