So the Pearson-Horvat-Hoglander line was great last year and during this preseason. Why are they split apart? Take Chiasson off the top line since they don’t seem to get any sustained pressure, put Garland in his place, reunite Hoglander with Horvat and Pearson, and put Chiasson on the 3rd line.
The 2011 team. I believe they had the best PP% in the league, the best PK% in the league, one of the best face off percentages, one of the highest goals for, and one of the best goals against. Absolutely dominant.
The answer is Bure.
Luongo is a close second. We saw what peak Luongo did in 06/07. He carried that Canucks team to round 2 of the playoffs. Having a goalie that carry an entire team and can stone your opponents like that is rare. If he had some offensive support, Luongo could’ve carried that team to a finals appearance.
He’s still good defensively, and can win faceoffs. Not to mention he can probably contribute some points. Imagine him on our third line :0 So much size, imagine this line crumbling top lines in the playoffs.
Pearson-Getzlaf-Podkolzin
But he’ll probably sign for $3 or $4 million somewhere else.
I don’t know if OEL would be able to hit 40+ points consistently. Quinn Hughes quarterbacks our first unit PP, so OEL would be pushed to the second unit. And we all know that our first unit stays out for 75% of the power play, so OEL would barely get minutes. Hopefully his 5 on 5 offensive play is decent.
F***** disgusting. The Hawks players, especially their “leaders,” should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. But of course, they’re only sorry once they’re caught. Disgrace. Makes me sick.
As much as I love Edler, I think our left side is already too full. We need to make space for the young guys like Rathbone and Juolevi. However, I wouldn’t mind if they spent the money on signing Adam Larsson to play beside Hughes.
