  1. Hard to call Hoglander a "regular", no? Size doesn't matter for us right now. We just need to win games and show everyone (including themselves and us fans) that this is a playoff team. From there improvements can be made. In any case, our blueline has enough size to keep opponents honest.
  2. Here's his projection card - not much to look at, but the defending is there.
  3. Will he live up to these numbers two years later?
  4. you might be the only one here who's skeptical about this
  5. Avec notre onzième choix, le Penguins de Pittsburgh sont très fier de repêcher... des Saguenéens de Chicoutimi... Rafaël Harvey-Pinard @Patrick Kane or whoever is in charge!
  6. Still not enough saved. It's crazy that Blueger cost more than Suter.
  7. Vancouver's up there too, right? Everyone tells me Woo Wolanin Hirose McWard Rathbone they'll all be top six guys. Right? It did take him a while to get signed
  8. He was conspicuously let go by Seattle as an unqualified restricted free agent. On paper he was an insanely efficient scorer who put up those numbers playing on 3rd and 4th lines. A 20-goal guy earning less than $1 million... and not even a qualifying offer. It's just rampant speculation at this point but now I'm starting to wonder if Seattle let him go for a reason.
  9. The Pittsburgh Penguins are very proud to select with their tenth round pick... from the Slovakian national team and AIK IF.... Dalibor Dvorský (no kipping allowed) @Herberts Vasiljevs
  10. I see a lot of folks here completely ignoring Matt Irwin and placing him below our prospects. He is a 7th defenceman through and through, slotting in whenever necessary. And it will be necessary on a Canucks team that always gets injured.
  11. I got a lot of haters here, waste of my time. I did put Jones in a proposal thread though
  12. Maybe I overexaggerated a bit. But Caleb did lead the team in goal, shot, and expected goals differentials among defencemen. It's a very specific metric that will obviously look different on an overloaded blueline like Carolina's, but I think Jones would've been a solid bottom-pairing D-man on any team.
  13. I am in the camp of not risking injury for a play that they have little chance. It's one thing to leg out a slow, high grounder and get an infield single. It's another thing to try and force an error on the defender. It's well established that Rafael Devers is the worst defender in baseball. He has 14 errors this year. That is a fielding percentage of... .947%. The odds of getting on base via error is much lower than you'd think. Vladdy isn't a rookie. He can probably tell when he won't make it. The risk of a pulled hamstring isn't worth tiny chance of a reward.
