  1. Hmm I'd think it's Habs wanting Michkov more than the other way around. It's likely hype that the media in Montreal is stirring up with the draft approaching. Who knows though, he hasn't indicated a team (yet) that he's favouring towards so it's anyone's guess. I'm very worried with what the Canucks will do with their picks and cap space after the OEL buyout (argh), but at the same time i've never been so excited with a draft for as long as i can remember. The draft is deep, lots of players expected to get moved and a bit of drama here and there. I just pray for Canucks to be on the good end out of all of this.
  2. I think this trade is possible but both teams have to see who's available at 11th. If we can still draft Willader at 15th then I'd be all over this, but it's too risk hoping the next 3 teams won't take him. I'm not going off by much but based on reports I'd be happy if we pick Willander who seems to have great potential. I don't care if we have to wait on him a couple of years.
  3. This is so weird. It was suggested that he could be looking to be drafted by a specific team. How does that even work unless you tell other teams don't draft me? Not sure why he would go to the habs unless there's some connection there. A team like caps would make more sense with Ovechkin.
  4. So OEL is going to sign a cheap contract as a bottom pair d with a contender and win a stanley cup there. It's the Canucks way. Argh, I am genuinely scared what they're going to do at the draft and free agent. Please DO NOT f-ing move the first round pick. This team continues to give me heart attack with these short sighted move, regardless of which management it is. The issue is clearly with ownership.
  5. Omg...just keep digging eh? Another impatient move. Probably because they talked to 31 other GMs and finally accepted that they can't move any of the bad contracts. Thanks Benning. The OEL trade has got to be worst move he made as a Canucks GM. I'm quite certain this is going to come back and haunt us.
  6. I don't like the Hronek trade for the timing of it but I can only hope it works out so I can complain less about it. I would not be surprised if quite a few teams find gems in the second round this year. I'd be ecstatic if we can recoup a second round pick this draft without trading down with our first, but the more likely scenario would be PA throwing in our remaining picks to get rid of a contract just to get under the cap. Argh.
  7. He'll likely be gone by the time we pick anyways. Too many teams ahead of us will have to draft by positional needs to pass on him. I'm pretty excited for this year's draft especially compare with last year's, but at the same time I'm very worried that we'll miss our pick which we absolutely cannot afford to when we don't have a second round pick.
  8. I hope Benson is gone by the time we pick so we don't have to pass on him. I know we keep saying draft BPA, but with the draft ranking all over the place after the consensus top 4-5, I'd prefer to see we draft one of the RD defensemen who will instantly become our top d prospect.
  9. I am one who supports short term pain and long term gain. I don't blame those who wants to remain positive and believe we have a core that we can build with. Or somehow we have a Cinderella run. It's only natural for ppl who sees hope and want to believe we're closer than we are. Looking at teams in the playoffs, the type of players and the structure of the contending teams, sure we might be able to crawl oue way into playoffs, but we are nowhere close to being a cup contender. It doesn't help when we have cap problems that limits us from making meaningful moves. It doesn't matter what fans think. If the owner believes someday we'll end our cycle of mediocrity by retooling year after year, then as fans we just have to accept it, unless we go cheer for another team. This might sound gloom, but I'm prepared to not see Canucks hoist a cup in my life time as long as Aquallini remains the owner. Unfortunately this is the only sports team I love and I can't see myself cheering for another one.
  10. Yes let's get this over with. A few more days for the media to go gaga about how a friggin expansion team wins its first cup before 10 other teams including Canucks. And then we can move on and talk about something else, probably more leafs but I think I can handle that more than this. On a side note, Eichel wins a cup before McDavid. He has Buffalo to thank for that.
  11. Didn't watch the game which is probably a good thing. It's most likely over for Florida. They made it close as the end though. As soon as I saw refs didn't allow this to be a physical series and called everything like they've never done before in previous playoffs I knew Vegas was going to take it. I was hoping for some luck for panthers and unfortunately they're too beaten up from playing too much hockey in the last 3 rounds. It really sucks to see an expansion team like Vegas, favoured by the league for obvious reasons to win a cup in just 6 years. It hurts as a Canucks fan to see this outcome with our cup drought and we're not close to being a cup contender. Bettman must be so damn proud of himself.
  12. Even with the cap going up that's still too long of a commitment for a potential second pair D. Canucks can't afford to hand out these type of contracts right now. I'm glad we avoided it.
  13. Maurice needs to work on his special teams before the next game. I'm expecting crappy officiating next game again.
  14. Panthers really need to be discipline. The refs haven't called the game in their favour one bit.
  15. Another player demanding where he wants to go. Not sure what kind of package Jets can get if he's only willing to go to one team. Habs has lots of assets but if they know they're the only player I wonder if they lowball.
  16. Thanks for the link. The ranking is all over the place. So many of these prospects with lots of hype now could very well not turn out. I really hope Canucks will be on the good end of it. We really need to draft and develop our picks well to find any long term success.
  17. It does. We all know how much Bettman wants Vegas to succeed as a hockey market. I'm sure the previous expansion teams would like to have the same treatment.
  18. It's on Maurice now to find a way to motivate and the team and get their momentum back. Seems like Bobrovsky is not the same goalie we saw in the last 2 series and Hill is playing consistently well. Not good. God I don't think I've hated a team this much since Boston. I just can't get myself to see a team who has just been in the league for friggin 6 years to win a cup.
  19. It seems refs are calling everything. Since when did the league decided to call playoffs the same way in regular season...
  20. LOL I was just going to say how many posts will panthers hit then bam Duclair makes up for the mistake on Theodore's goal.
