  1. Cannabis legalization gaining a strong foothold in the TO media. Like some chocolate to go with that koolaid fellas?
  2. Ooh I am so jealous of the Maple Leafs. I heard a rumour that Mr Kyle Dubas and Cap master Gilman have hatched a cleaver plot to get under the cap to free up the bucks to sign Marner. The team will dress one skater under the limit and whoever isn’t playing in goal will “play out”. Right now that guy, could play in the top six; if not the top four. The two goalies combined might lead the team in blocked shots, and would be right up their among the leaders in hits. Problem solved.
  3. Laff’s media so proud that they are paying their bottom six table scraps so that the big boys (and wee Willie Nylander) can take home the big bucks. “Brilliant strategy Mr Dubas sir!”. Come playoff time wee Willie and the other stars will be getting out of the way of Bruin’s SOG and costing the team games. What would motivate guys like Moore to go out there and block shots night after night? TM: Mr Dubas sir, I would like a raise because I need to take home more than $1m after taxes and escrow. Dubas: Sorry TM, not gonna happen. Gotta pay Mitch and the stars. TM: But I’ve done everything you’ve asked. I bleed the blue for this team every night. How do I get paid what I’m worth. Dubas: Guess I’ll have to trade you, because we only pay top six guys. Yeah, I could see how a guy like Moore would wanna be there for the Laffs when it really mattered. /s I’d love to be in Babcock’s shoes come playoff time.
  4. Your inferences are pretty clear. However there are a few “clowns” out there who don’t agree with you. That makes for interesting discussion. P I read your opinions and took your advice and “looked in the mirror”, but not before taking off my “rose coloured glasses” I’d rather see a separate thread about “the plan - was there one, is there one, will there ever be one, and will we ever follow it”, on a separate thread. I thought that this thread was about Ferland, not “the big picture”. If I’m wrong about that, then I should expect that every thread will eventually turn into a debate about the plan. They say a picture is worth a 1,000 words. That’s why I post memes. Actually I prefer the smiley faces to the pluses. I see that you have nearly 10,000 pluses to my 1,342 . Don’t stop what you’re doing, diversity of opinion is why I come on this board.
  5. Babcock is one of the better coaches in the league. I don’t think that Dubas is on the same page as him however, and that may ultimately cost him his job. On defense you can’t make chicken dinner with chicken sh#t.
  6. Babcock had Nik Lidstrom in Detroit. Guy like that can make a coach look pretty good.
  7. That is a question. But is it the “real” question? Imho the real question is , can we win a cup with this type player on our roster? Take a look at the makeup of most Cup winners for your answer.
  8. I’m okay with adapting to changing circumstances over time. Rigid adherence to a master plan isn’t always a precursor to a Stanley Cup. St. Louis Blues are a fine example of this. Weeks away from blowing the whole thing up, they made a few changes on the fly. I’m sure that the majority of their fans chose to enjoy the moment, rather than posting walls of text to debate whether their GM is an idiot for not sticking to the plan.
  9. But, but, but his wife is a lawyer, so that makes him smart too.
  10. Hockey players might be big kids saying all the right things but their agents be like:
  11. Curt Fraser was pretty good in his day.
  12. Welcome to Vancouver Tyler. You’re going to have to put up with a lot of bullsh*t from our media and a lot of foolish chatter from the know it alls on social media. I look forward to watching your development as player.
  13. All of it. Consensus is that Barrie is a rental and this does impact how people analyze the trade. Laffs are still scrambling to ice a team that can win a playoff round. Hasn’t happened lately despite the hype surrounding the team. Better luck in 2020.
  14. I don’t see a lot of people saying that the Laffs didn’t win this trade. Many are hopeful that Laff’s salary cap issues will preclude them from retaining Barrie next year when he becomes a UFA. Nobody is saying that Barrie isn’t worth trading the dirtbag Kadri for. It’s a short term win for the Laffs. Maybe not so much in the long run.
  15. Now that Kadri is no longer a Laff, it will be a whole new ballgame for him with player safety. Colorado is getting a guy with too many prior bad acts. I don’t expect it to end well for them.
  16. That’s because they’ve run out of superlatives about that blockbuster Nick Shore pickup. Laff’s problems all solved, now what are we gonna talk about?
  17. The point is that we complain when a trade is made and we complain when a trade isn’t made. There’s an abundance of things to complain about for the average armchair quarterback. If you think that Canucks overpaid for Miller than I’m happy with that, because you seem to know so much compared to the average fanboy.
  18. In before someone says why didn’t you make this trade GMJB?
