[PGT] San Jose Sharks at Vancouver Canucks | Apr. 09, 2022
Rick Blight replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Yeah, he needs to be more fit. Leads the league in number of shifts and leads the league by a large margin in hits for players with more than 50 points.......man, I guess you wouldn't be in such a hurry to trade him if he were in shape. -

You'd be pretty tired too if you had the most shifts in the NHL. Who am I kidding....you'd be bagged half way through your 1st shift of the season. -

No, but that 5 man unit overall is tiny. -

Hughes, Garland, Hunt, Petan and Podz must be the smallest PP unit I have ever seen. -

[Report] Ryan Getzlaf announces retirement
Rick Blight replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
We (Hockey Super League) were fortunate to have Anaheim's head coach, Dallas Eakins, join a video call with us to share his hockey experiences with our coaches and players When Eakins was asked who his favorite player was he quickly replied that it was Ryan Getzlaf He followed that up by saying he considered Ryan to be the finest human being he had ever been around and, if he had a son, he would want him to be exactly like Ryan Getzlaf The guy had a great career and I wish him all the best for a long and healthy retirement -
[Report] Marian Hossa announces retirement
Rick Blight replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
His contract expired at the end of last season. Chicago had traded his contract to Arizona so he was technically an Arizona Coyote at the end of his career. I guess he did not want to retire as a Coyote and chose the 1 day contract with the Blackhawks. -

He was elected to the HOF in 2020. -
Players he might have targeted may still be playing in playoffs. There have been a few signed by other teams so either they were of no interest to Allvin or the player simply chose to play elsewhere.

Gotta love our fans and hockey fans in general. We hate almost every national anthem singer....... National anthem singers are responsible for our putrid 1st periods against all those other teams we hate.................. Those other teams we hate are assisted in getting the lead by those crooked referees that we hate even more.... Then we move to the 1st intermission and are subjected to these hated commentators that we just can't bear to listen to.......mute button Back to the action on the ice for the 2nd period. We are mounting a comeback but those dastardly refs that we hate get whistle happy... Whistle happy refs get our hated PK back on the ice and before you know it a PP goal and we are behind our hated opponent by more... Now our hated PK turns us to hating almost every assistant coach in club history....oh well, they know we're not serious. Right? Back to the 2nd intermission and those hated morons are talking about our 32nd ranked PK.......mute again. Third period and those crooked refs finally give us a PP........big deal, just game management and they know our PP sucks. Our PP does suck and the rest of Canada must love it ....they all hate us. Our PP scores and we are back in the game......a big screw you to all our haters......we're the best. Boeser is having his usual bad game...........geez the guy is so slow and can't ever hit the net.....trade him now!!!!!! Boeser scores! We win!!!!!! We're going to the playoffs and no one will want to play us........... After Hours show doesn't have a Canuck interview? Screw you Sporsnet/CBC........we hate you guys anyway. And we won so p off. Ah, don't we just love hockey?????

We have only won back to back games 3 times over the past three seasons. The good news is that one of those back to back wins had the 2nd game in Minnesota after winning in Buffalo the previous night. We beat them 4-1 in that game so let's hope we see history repeat. I'm calling for a 4-1 Canucks win tonight.

Thanks SID, I was not aware of that loophole.

I believe King needs to go through the draft again this year as a 19 year old. All players who will be 18 years old on or before September 15 and not older than 19 years old before December 31 of the draft year are eligible for selection for that year's NHL Entry Draft. In addition, non-North American players over the age of 20 are eligible.

JR's TDL and summer moves (Proposals)
Rick Blight replied to J.I.A.H.N's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Jan, you usually come out with these on Sunday nights....what's with the delay? Anyways, good proposal other than I think you have us overpaying for Blueger. I do not want to see us lose Hoglander. Your proposal also only includes a 21 man roster and I doubt the team would want to go that route. You also have not included the $2.4M in dead cap salaries for Holtby and Virtanen. -
[Rumour] Canucks interested in Brandon Scanlin

Yeah, he should definitely be on that list. Not sure why they didn't have him in there. -

I think he replaced Cale Makar as the #1 D for Brooks when Makar went on to play at UMass.........not that that means anything. LOL
