@Phil_314 The more I think about it, the more I like that Torts holds his players accountable. It doesn't work if players are accustomed to limited roles, and therefore different understandings of what they're supposed to do. Sedins worked fine under Torts (noting that they were in decline, but at the same time, very complimentary of their work ethic). I'm fairly certain that Pettersson would have done fine as well. Players like Laine and Virtanen probably won't do so well, come to think of it.

Torts just won the Coach of the Year award for 2016-17.  Problem is, while he can produce results, he has a short shelf-life.  Granted, he has won that award twice (as well has being the head coach for one Cup winning team).

Never hurt anyone to be a 200ft player.  You  get more scoring chances when you're able to get the puck in your own zone and counterattack.  Boeser is a sniper too but at least he tries defensively.
