Hopefully he gives McCann a nice Christmas card since the only reason why he even had an NHL career is due to McCann forcing the team to keep them both as rookies. Virt always came off as disinterested and lazy at every AHL or Nucks game I've been to.

He has so much tv potential and a love for the game. Hopefully he can help grow the game within the BIPOC community by giving him an outlet on HNIC

You pretty much nailed the situation in Calgary I will miss the iconic building, dome foams and one of the cheapest seats to catch a game in Canada. But the building is literally falling apart and it would be a big boost to the downtown core being able to bring in quality acts. I just hope the new arena looks more than just a shoebox like the initial proposals indicate.

Fingers crossed that they win tonight. I see that some $50 seats for gold medal were just released and I was able to snag one. Now for the 3hr drive tomorrow

I just bought season tickets for the Flames a month ago and now they go into full rebuild. Atleast the Flames tears will make it even more entertaining in the press level

I wouldn't mind a 20 team format. Let the 4 wildcard teams in each conference battle it out for the last 2 spots in a best of 3 mini series. The higher ranked team hosts all 3 games as their advantage.

I was at this game Dallas played and covered them well. If Dallas covers the passing lanes like they did last night they may take the series (as much as I'm hoping for a battle of Alberta) Calgary looked way off. A lot of their passes were rushed, going to nowhere or bouncing all over the place. Only in the late 3rd did they look like the team that they are capable of.

I'm hoping Calgary goes far and I may have joined the bandwagon. This will be my first Red Mile experience since moving here. Even though the fans at the Dome have pretty mediocre level chirps when I rock the blue and green when the Nucks are in town.

I think a 3-2-1 point system is the way to go. Gives teams an incentive to win in regulation instead of shutting it down in the 3rd to rest key players. OTW will be 2 points and OTL worth one point.

I have not seen one reason why KR was the aggressor and deserved to be ambushed by JR. If you don't like a kid wielding a gun, the common sense thing to do is continue walking down the block. Not one video showed KR being aggressive by aiming his gun at anyone (unless being attacked). Just because he went against the grain by putting out fires, cleaning graffiti, and providing basic medical aid does not entitle someone to attack him. JR would have easily overpowered KR if he didn't shoot. A fully grown man, double his age and quite strong (165, 5'3) would have done damage to an average build kid. With threats like "I'll kill you if I catch anyone alone", "I'll cut xxx out of you" it's obvious JR was not in the right headspace. We have already seen videos of women getting beaten by 2x4's, people killed and beaten during the multiple protests/riots that summer, to say an unarmed person can't severely beaten or kill a kid is delusional. You would completely have a case if KR was aiming his gun at everyone that was near him or trying yelling slurs to aggravate the crowd. Saying "does anyone need medical" doesn't sound like it fits the bill and narrative you are trying to portray.

To be fair I am not sure if there would be any Canadian team if I made the NHL either. I don't have it in me to join the C of Red even though I live in Calgary and Ottawa would be the best spot for a low profile but high taxes. Playing for the Panthers, minimal media exposure and nice weather. Plus pressure of playing in the playoffs once every 10 years sounds more appealing
