  1. I went into this in the JT trade thread before he even played a game for us to show the haters that his numbers were bound to improve with more ice time (he ended up even higher than my projections). Miller's average time on ice on each team... -New York 14:50 -Tampa Bay 15:23 -Vancouver 20:35 His best season as a ranger he had 56 points in 16:22 of ice time, That's 2.5 points per 60 minutes. His best performance with the lightening after he was traded there and was given top 6 minutes. He had 18 points (19 games) in 18:11 of ice time, that's 3.1 points per 60 minutes. For the Canucks his time on ice has been just over 20 minutes every season 2019-20 he had 3.1 points per 60 (best TB) 2020-21 he had 2.5 points per 60 (best NYR) 2021-22 he is at 3.5 points per 60 He is having a career year but it's actually not that big of a jump compared to his ice time. He always just needed the opportunities that he has been given. This of course doesn't mean he can't fall off a cliff as he gets into his mid 30's but it does show that he has been a consistent high level producer throughout his career.
  2. The percentage of drafted players who actually turn out into top 6 players is "small" shouldn't stop you from trying.
  3. By that reasoning Loui got 6 million to average 10 goals and 20 points a year meaning every agent should ask for 6 million dollar 4th liners contracts.
  4. Dont know how to break it to you so ill just come right out and say it. Jim benning no longer works for this team.
  5. Kap doesn't impress me and that 1st is late. I'd want Marino.
  6. There were rumblings that Jim tried to fire TG but FA had already taken the keys away from him. But my hypothetical universe started from this day forward, long after TG and JB are gone.
  7. Imagine... in an alternative universe if you may. The Canucks don't make any moves at the deadline, go on an absolute run and win the stanley cup. Does JB win GM of the year posthumous?
  8. Problem is the cupboards were bare when Gillis was done. He inherited a great team with cap space from Nonis, had he inherited the team that JB did and couldn't draft well there would be no way up.
  9. Besides putting up a nearly identical ppg number? He was also healthy for the full season. That is a huge improvement!
  10. 5 in his last 5 14 points in his last 15 games What a drop off!!!!
  11. Many many player don't come back from serious concussions.
  12. The study was in 2014. Hard to believe that human physiology has changed in the past 8 years. As for boesers rookie year vs his recent performance? In his rookie year he had a .89ppg% last season he had a .88ppg%.... talk about downhill!!!
  13. Luongo's $3,035,212 out Holtby, Virtanen, Halak's $3,650,000 in
  14. All these people trying to pick who was the best GM... Stan Smyl baby!!! Never lost a game, never made a bad trade, never made a bad signing, never made a bad pick.... freaking legend!
  15. The butterfly effect... makes me wish we would have traded Schneider to the Oilersinstead of the devils. We still could have taken Bo and Edmonton would have never been bad enough to draft mcpuke or drys but would have still sucked bad enough to miss the playoffs.
  16. A timeout at some point probably would have been a good idea
  17. My God! The whole cbc team is in love with the leafs!
  18. He was comfortably retired, aquaman flew down to his city, came to his house and pleaded with him to join the Canucks. He didn't give an answer right away, he thought long and hard about it before making his decision. He chose to come here because he has passion for the game, it's all he knows. Definitely not because "he needs work", this isn't Evander Kane with a gambling debt, this is a wealthy old man who loves hockey. Jim left Pittsburgh because the ownership started blocking him from making moves. I have no doubt ghat he would retire in a heartbeat if the aquas started doing the same.
  19. Zacha is 3rd in ice time and 3rd in powerplay time amongst forwards on New Jersey. He's also had over 60% offensive zone starts, he has had ample opportunities to pad his stats to no avail.
