Need a top 6 forward. Tram comes over after his KHL season done to upgrade D.

JB said a couple days ago he's looking for a top 6 forward.

If Madden goes you trade for Hall..

    Hall + 3rd for Madden + Rafferty + LE.

I think JB would do it if Hall agrees to reasonable money/term on extension. I doubt Hall will because he'll be getting Panarin money as UFA.

Hall ain't coming here under any circumstances man. Let it go.

  2. I've been committed to psychiatric facilities several times in my life most recently about 3 years ago. It's a really horrible place to be. The food is disgusting, the nurses are rude and 80% of the people there are completely out of their mind. You meet some very interesting people but it is very dehumanizing. Taking care of your mental health whatever the price may be is very important; More important than taking care of your physical health. What would you do if you were losing your mind? You can lose 10 pounds but you can't lose a disease of the mind. Best wishes to Mr. Pavelich as he embarks on a path towards improving his mental health and wellness. I wish nothing but the best for him and his family. Hopefully the NHL starts assisting former players who are suffering from psychiatric problems so they don't have anymore Rick Rypiens and Wade Belaks.

  3. Look, we've had some bad games the past little while.

Look at it this way: If we miss the playoffs again AND win a top three pick we could get Lucas Raymond. I've had my eye on him for the last little while and I think he'd be a permanent solution to play with EP40. He's a playmaking winger but he's got some scoring touch. A top line of Podkolzin-Pettersson-Raymond would light up the league IMO. Out of all the players available in the summer's draft I really think Lucas is a really special player.

  4. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East.

They even extend voting rights to their Arab and Hasidic citizens who do not serve in the army.

I've been to Israel twice and I think it's a great country.

I will not be commenting on this thread after this any further as it is only going to make me upset.

All I'm going to say is that I hope the State of Israel finds it's direction and gets on course possibly with a new Prime Minister possibly not. Israel needs to resolve the conflict with the Arab nations and become a country that is recognized and accepted by all. I hope they host the olympics in my lifetime. It would teach people a lot about the kind of place it is. I hope the citizens of Gaza can find some peace and turn away from the extremism that is governing them. The situation is untenable in Gaza and I really think the disengagement wasn't executed properly and shouldn't have happened without a firm peace deal with the Arabs under their authority and other Arab countries.

I will say this: In order for peace to be achieved I do not think the two-state solution is the way to go to resolve this conflict. A certain Israeli politician once said that the two-state solution is merely a bumper sticker and a talking point. I agree with this. The solution is to cede the Gaza Strip to Egypt, to cede parts of the Judea and Samaria(areas A and B.) and Israel proper(Umm al-Fahm, Tayibe, Rahat, Basma and so on) to Jordan. Prior to 1967, Judea and Samaria belonged to Jordan and Gaza was a protectorate of Egypt. We should return to this territorial situation as it is beneficial to Israel and the countries around her.

Once Israel sorts out territorial issues in Judea and Samaria along with Gaza, she will have an overwhelming Jewish majority in the territory she lives on. This means that there will be no reason for any of the Arab nations not to agree to a multi-national peace agreement with Israel. The global economy loses TRILLIONS of dollars every year because of the Middle East conflict. It is time for people across the Middle East to relax, sip on coffees at cafes, go for a stroll down the street without getting blown up by &^@#ing land mines. It's time for girls to go to school. It's time for boys to be boys and play soccer and other stuff.  These are Human lives we're talking about! These people want to chill they're sick of all this war.

For all you people who accuse Israel of being illegitimate because "Jews are from Europe" are just completely wrong. As of 2005, 61% of Israelis were of partial or full Mizrahi origin. Mizrahi Jews are of Middle-Eastern descent who lived under Muslim rule in Arab countries for generations. They are almost genetically identical to Arabs. Jews from Europe are also genetically very similar to Arabs and their fellow Mizrahi Jews. What I'm basically saying is that the assertion that Jews are not indigenous to the Middle East and to the land of Israel is complete hogwash. We have thousands of years of history in both the land of Israel and the Middle East. So this "Free Palestine" bulls**t is just garbage. I'm going to say this even though it's going to really piss some people off: in Alan Dershowitz's Case for Israel He cites evidence that a significant number of Arabs currently living in Israel, the so-called Palestinian Authority and the Gaza Strip are descendants of Arabs who came to the land to take jobs from the Zionist movement and from Jews living off the land. There were many jobs available in agriculture, construction, industries, etc. but if you want more details about the book just read it. I have a signed copy if anyone is interested.

Anyways I'm done. I'm not responding to this thread again. I'll stick to hockey as this subject makes me very uncomfortable.

  5. Sorry all you jackasses criticizing Myers are way off base. The guy drives player who cares how many points he has points don't mean everything. Toews in Chicago scores at a similar rate to BH53. The difference between the two is that Toews has an elite defensive game which means he doesn't have to score as much. Horvat is a great centre don't get me wrong but he ain't as good as Toews. I'm basically saying that point scoring while important isn't EVERYTHING. I think Myers has been great for us and I'll think he'll be a solid top 4 guy for us for years to come.

  6. I own approximately 11 vapes and I'm addicted to it. It's one of my favourite habits.

Your friend's son was probably using a cheap vape like a Juul which is made out of plastic. The burning plastic from the Juul is probably what caused this medical condition. Even though my vapes aren't made out of plastic I'm afraid this could happen to me as well. Might switch back to cigarettes.

The Canucks are clearly in cap trouble and any mistakes this year will make the next few years even more difficult.  ( If they can't cover their Bonuses this year it will roll to next)

Do we really trust Boesers back on a long term deal? I would be looking for a short deal to see how he fares this year.

I also would explore a trade that could maybe include LE.

Minny  for Boldy a first and a swap of LE's 3 year deal for someone with one year left.   Koivu?   I know he has a NMC.

Koivu is a much better player than Eriksson he'd be a solid 3C if we decide to move on from Sutter as well

Not to mention scouts are usually assigned leagues so pretty sure almost every NHL team will be scouting the bchl this year. I mean 3 good picks out of Victoria alone. The league is making a name for itself as the most competitive Junior A league in Canada...

My cousin Carter Berger played for the Grizzlies

Are we sure, scientifically, that’s correct?

Alf had you had any PERSONAL DIRECT experience with addiction

With all do respect, that's your opinion and not actually fact and nothing you say is going to change my mind. While being addicted can, by definition, be called a disease, there was a choice made to put that disease upon yourself. There are very rare cases which people had it forced upon them as children and could not recover. I understand that. However the majority of cases are self inflicted.

And for you to say I have no experience with addiction is false.

Edit: that post was from April. I believe you have quoted me more than once from the same post.

Have you ever been addicted to anything Baer?

I lost three friends to overdoses last year.

It hurts every time I read something like that.

I spent years of my life either chronically or episodically homeless, so I've a lot of friends and acquaintances who use heavy substances. They're not psychopathic, hedonistic fiends who want to &^@# everyone over; they're people who want to love and be loved, who are more than their use, and who--under the weight of what are extremely difficult disorders to live with--unfortunately cause a lot of harm. But they're always the people who suffer most.

I have never had an addiction to anything but nicotine (i know that's still super yuck but it's not meth at least lol), and I consider it luck more than anything to do with my character that I've managed to stay clean and on a healthier course than many of my brothers and sisters of the streets. There are so many variables that are involved when someone starts using something; to call it choice is stupid when so many people get into these things because of the burdens of traumatic pasts and abject homelessness.

I used heroin once. I bought a bunch of it because I was tempted to suicide. I decided I was going to test a small bit of it to enjoy a high before I took enough to kill me. So I put some weed in my bong, some nicotine in it as well, and topped it off with the tiniest bit of diamorphine. Then I had second thoughts and decided to take the heroin out of the bong, not get addicted, and just smoke the weed/tobacco. But there must have still been traces of it in there because I had the best high of my life: euphoria and absolute contentedness with the $&!#show that is my life. It was incredible. So I disposed of all the dope because I realized, under the power of the high, that I would lose my life to it if I didn't toss all of it right then and there. And so I'm still around.

I don't know why my friends and people got into using what they do. But when I almost fell into it for the reasons I did, I have a very difficult time believing that addiction is a 'choice' in the full and strict sense of the word.

PS- give mafia a second chance. ;)

Dude I have lots of experience with addiction I'm addicted to nicotine and I've been clean and sober off opiates for almost three years. I know exactly what you're talking about I've had the exact same experiences you've had. I was hooked on weed for a while but it's not chemically addictive it's more habit forming. Not that hard to quit. But opiates man I was hooked all I could think about was my next fix. Luckily I ran into a very good doctor who took me under his wing for a while and gave me suboxone which has been a life saver for me. No more opiates for me. Just living life clean and sober. I've had several friends be homeless as well. I've never been homeless myself but I know other people who have. I even have a friend right now who lives on the street on Laurel and Broadway. It's really close to my apartment so every time I see him we exchange pleasantries I give him a hug and we talk about how he's doing. Luckily all he does is smoke weed he doesn't do hard drugs so he's fine. It's really easy to kill yourself with opiates BTW man I've had like three overdoses from it which is actually really bad. One time I was staying with my parents at their place in Richmond and they found me in my room and apparently my lips were turning blue and I was barely breathing. They called 911 and luckily the ambulance got there in time and I was eventually fine after getting some NarCan.

PS I didn't have a clue how to play Mafia in the first place and I got eliminated right away so IDK if I'm gonna participate again
