  1. I wouldn't have considered it going into the season but I actually think it might be best for him. Even if he's only there until Christmas, it's not like past years where we're sending him across the continent. Even last year in the KHL he was up and down between the minors and the K, where both teams were also in the same city. I think he might end up only playing 40-50 games in the NHL this year which is not the worst thing for his development. I don't see any glaring deficiencies and he is solid defensively but it could serve him best in the long run to get bigger minutes in Abby and to polish off his skating some more. I think Rathbone is in a similar boat. It will only help to have some real blue chip prospect depth at the top of the call up list, especially if it means not having to waive a guy like Gadjovich who I think has had a really strong showing this pre-season.
  2. That $28M doesn't account for Petey and Hughes so it will be closer to $13M barring any trades, but that should still be more than enough to give Boeser ~7 and 5-6 between bridges for Rathbone and Juolevi plus other depth
  3. LTIR doesn't activate until the season starts. So you do in fact have to add Ferland's $3.5 million to our cap space. Also carrying 9D and 11F when you add Hughes and Petey so shift one of the near league minimum contracts to a forward and add one more. There's also potential LTIR space from Motte and Sutter.
  4. Praying would be a strong word considering I've never done it before maybe religiously was too strong of an implication... But to answer your question, I think Lockwood and Gadjovich both deserve a longer look. I think they might need to see exactly where Woo is at as well considering the Hamonic situation.
  5. Perhaps they took a day to discuss cuts with the management team. I've been checking religiously as well, hopefully we get some news today.
  6. First round of cuts, then Hamonic's decision, then Petey & Hughes contracts.
  7. Yeah his wheels really have improved and he's always had the hands. I've been surprised to see some nice playmaking from him down low considering he's known as more of a front of the net goal scorer type.
  8. I don't think there's a reason for Silovs to be the 2nd goalie if he's not gonna get some icetime considering we have 2 other guys who haven't played a game yet (Demko & Halak) and the next 3 days off. My guess is they want to see more from him because they liked what they saw yesterday. Excited to get a first look at OEL, Podz, Woo & Garland tonight!
  9. My Flames fan buddy saw the rosters and said "I hope we score a goal tonight"
  10. I'm just going by the lines I've seen in camp, and if you continued to read the discussion between Smashian and I you'd see I forgot about Dickenson and put him there instead. .....relax.
  11. I knew I was forgetting someone there. Yeah Pearson - Bo - Dickenson looks very solid as a shutdown line especially as we know Dickenson had stints up in the top 6 in Dallas and is well known for his defensive prowess. It would free up the Petey and Miller lines to do some serious damage and Bo will still put up his 20G. I think Garland on a different line from Petey gives us 2 solid playmakers in the top 6 as well.
  12. If he plans on playing Miller at center we could see a top 9 something like... Hoglander - Petey - Boeser (based on seeing Petan between these two yesterday) Pearson - Horvat - MacEwan/other Podkolzin - Miller - Garland My only issue here is Horvat getting stuck with the leftovers for wingers once again.
  13. Amazing can you link the thread with the rest of your work?
  14. It's the invite list, Motte is injured but also on there. I'm guessing they reused old measurements for the guys that aren't there right now. That's the only explanation I can think of for why they would update his measurements from the draft ones they used for the rookie camp roster.
  15. After much debate and wonder, it looks like it's finally been settled as Podkolzin measured in at 6'4" 203 lbs on the training camp roster. Wow. Just wow.
  16. I think any team in the league would have taken him at that price but he must have wanted to stay in StL. Edit: the press release says plus bonuses, I wonder what those targets are?
  17. Some serious deep cut names there... DeFazio & McMillan
  18. You can be signed and have your contract slide, it's very common actually. Not that I would expect EP to concern himself with this knowledge considering how much time he spent in the CHL and AHL
