  1. It can be very polarizing at times. At least with 1040 you get some interviews with who their critiquing lol!
  2. People are also forgetting that Tippett was a power play coach in LA. He is also a former player, and that can hopefully help him relate well with the players right off the bat.
  3. Despite what the critics say about him being an defensive-minded only coach, I would love to see what he can here. A guy like Tippet has more tricks up his sleeve I'm sure, and knows the Western Conference well. I don't care if the Canucks keep a shutdown style game as long as they can compete in the playoffs.

  5. You definitely don't need protein drinks etc if you are eating well and getting all your nutritional requirements from your meals alone. That said, if you are working out quite hard and on a daily basis, your body definitely needs proper nutrition inorder to recover and continue training effectively afterwards. I guess supplements like protein powders are just a specialized way of making sure your body gets what it needs. I like to get my nutrients from nutrient dense foods first, and on particularly hard days add something like a protein shake.
  6. Yeah. You definitely need someother flavours in there to make is at least somewhat appetizing. Like mixed with hemp seed and dressing on a nice bed of salad Personally, if I am just going to have a protein shake (water + protein) I use VEGA's Sport Performance Protein. It is all plant based and unlike whey, there is no 'window' for using it e.g. immediately after excercise to get effective results. It consitently gets top marks from most sports nutritionists. And it doesn't taste like crap.
  7. In the past I've never really tried Olympic style lifts (squats, deadlifts, cleans, snatches, etc) and now that I've been trying them they are what I find the most fun to add into my routine. Lots of explosive power and full body work. So much to learn as well. I'd like to drop roughly 10 pounds to achieve a nice strong lean body physique. Nutrition (cutting out bad foods) is always the most difficult part. Although meal wise I eat very healthy, it is the crap foods in between or afterwards that puts a damper on achieving really good results.
  8. Same here, and if you add brown rice and pea protein to it you get an even better protein profile. But hemp seed alone is pretty good. I add a big scoop to coconut yogurt or in my smoothies.
  9. LOL fair enough, but you can definitely go big as a vegan as well (plant based protein).
  10. You haven't been watching the games then. Garrison is a very fast skater for a D man. He has jumped into the play a number of times and blazes into the O zone.
  11. Him and Hamhuis look really solid together. He's a good skater for a big guy, has decent hands and man o man that shot. Once he gets the accuracy dialed look out. Doing well on his off side as well. I think alot of that has to do with Hamhuis being a good partner as well.
  12. It`s the beginning of a shortened season on a new team. Give the guy a break and some time to adjust. I think he`ll shape up and do well. Whether that means the Canucks win the cup this year is another matter. Count your lucky stars for that to happen.

  14. I'm beginning to think MG may not have offered full bonuses to the kid, considering his lack of NHL experience. Doing so could have hurt the team bad if the kid turned out to be a dud this year. MG probably touted how great of a situation playing in VAN is with a great organization rather than trying to buy off the kid with $$$ or ice time.

  18. I want a 4th line that torpedo's him every time they fore-check and the Sedins to completely undress him with their wizardry. Maybe Kesler can draw a penalty with a dive or something too,
