  1. And so does 29 other teams right? Easier said then done. Restructure the team? That makes no sense because the Canucks are already competetive team. And re-structuring is far from a sure thing. Trade the Sedins/Kesler/Defense/whatever and you are far from guaranteed a cup because who knows what sort of chemistry you'll end up with. Look at EDM. Great young impact players but overall weak as a team. COL is doing well but they were far from a sure thing for quite awhile. Again, restructuring the team is an unnecesary risk when you have a very competetive team that can play well in an already competetive conference. Plus you forget the human element. Players play well at different times. That is the nature of being an athlete unless you are someone special like Sydney Crosby. Sometimes athletes come together and play great like ANH and SJ is doing now, but a couple of years ago people were seriously doubting whether there was anything left. Point is, if players have the skill and the compete level you have to place trust in them. Canucks have a good core, and who knows how they will do this year but in the long run the Canucks are a competetive team, with young players coming up.
  2. oi its gonna be an interesting second half of the season
  3. And after all that these same people should assume that somehow magically other GM's are interested in trading said players, let alone for what they are getting in return. Yes CDC, other GM's are thinking exactly like you are
  4. Yeah and obviously YOU know how being a GM works right? ROFL. stick to playing on hockey forums rather than talking about a proffessional position as if you know anything baout the position
  5. maybe you should try playing pro hockey against one of the best teams in the NHL right now before you start flapping your mouth. Oh wait- you don't. IMO good effort by the Canucks. Canucks were tired as hell and almost pulled it off. On to the next one.
  6. Lack is gonna have to stand on his head for the Canucks to pull this one off
  7. Got to hand it to LA. They dominated play most of the time. Canucks played well though and almost grinded out a better result.
  8. Santorelli is like a poor man's version of Patty Kane. Best player for the Canucks right now IMO
  9. Sather is getting shafted in the coaching swap, I wonder how open he is to getting shafted in a possible player swap lol. probably unlikely
  10. agreed. unfortunately with the injuries J.S has suffered this season he is a LONG ways away from being in game shape- it is just an unfortunate circumstance. I'm not sure if J.S is subject to waivers but what would be best for him when he is game ready again is to play in Utica and return hopefully just before the season ends to slot in the 3rd/4th line but that might just be wishful thinking. Richardson has done a pretty good job so far I think. Defensively he is exactly what the 3rd line needs and is decent enough as a 2 way C. And with Horvat coming up I agree the Canucks don't need to trade the farm, but even Horvat might be a year or two away from the NHL, so I'm curious who MG & Co might be looking at for depth at the C position.
  11. Booth is starting to come around and become the top 6 player MG wanted when he aquired him. Getting rid of him only makes sense if the Canucks want to open up a roster spot for a young player. I doubt MG does anything untill next season when some prospects battle for a roster spot, and maybe then make a trade if need be., especially since he will be an UFA. There is definitely value in keeping a guy like Booth around if he is performing well because fast power forwards with decent hands are hard to come by, and his chemistry with Kassian is really helping the team right now. Why not keep that intact for next season? Imagine Horvat centering those 2 wingers.
  12. Sesito has skill. His short lefts and counter rights show that he has at least some boxing knowledge. No he doesn't throw hay makers and tries to fight smart and defensively but that's called being smart.
  13. AHLberts puts the foot in people's mouths and tallies up his first point- a mighty fine assist
  14. if the canucks lose this game I suggest a full rebuild
  15. why wouldn't I? sometimes there are bigger goals like making the playoffs than over-celebrating a win. Seems like the same approach I would take.
  16. Yeah they played more the way Torts wants them too- with "stiffness" but even he says they have a LONG ways to go against teams like the Bruins RE his post game comments (I advise you go listen before making subjective comments). I wouldn't be so sure of your celebrating the win as some sort of 'heralded victory' or milestone marker. SImply another game against a good team. Canucks have plenty of more of those left in the regular season. Fair enough. CDC is a hot bed of emotion. Sometimes annoying. Sometimes irrational.
  17. Sedin, Torts, and Luo all say it's just another game.
  18. I just want to add if not for some puck luck and timely execution on the Canucks part, they easily could have had their asses handed to them tonight. Bruins were controlling the game before falling behind. Game could have easily gone the other way.
  19. I'm happy the Canucks beat a very good team like the Bruins but all the "Bruins suck" chants and slamming them here on CDC is stupid IMO. It's 2 points and nothing else until the playoffs.
  20. biting my nails in the first. bruins are a damn good team. Santo and Higgins are IMO playing clutch right now.
  21. Hope Sesito is in the line up for this one and Weiss/Bieksa bring some added toughness. I really don't like the Oilers
