  1. He could play. Whether or not he is ready is another question. Personally I think he should get games this year with Utica or the big team.
  2. Risto, Still not good by the numbers, but playing hard minutes. Upgrade on a third pairing, but the cost to acquire won't match the increase in ability.
  3. I've kind of seen him as a Roussel type player. Brings sand paper, speed, and some skill.
  4. Wish he was coming to help the playoff run too!
  5. Juolevi for a rental doesn't make much sense.
  6. Glad he's back. Nice to have some C depth again.
  7. Still not a fan of that move if it happens. Adding 31 year olds form terrible teams is just not a look I want to see personally. Jesper Fast though. I would be okay with him.
  8. Canucks need this one. It's heating up in this race to the finish. Gotta find a way to get another 25 points. This is a winnable game, but against a solid team.
  9. I think he will likely play in the SHL next year. Karlskoga is looking to win the Allsvenskan and gain promotion. He has played well though.
  10. Hoping it's Miles Wood instead of Simmonds if we are going that direction.
  11. The hard part of being a Canuck prospect is you either need to be a top 9 forward, or a PK specialist to get a spot on this team. Travis loves his PK guys. Motte, Beagle, Schaller, Eriksson, Sutter all PK. If Bailey is jumping in on the 4th line he's taking out a PK guy, for what is hopefully slightly better 5v5 play. If Bailey Pk'ed like Motte does, we could have a great combo there. Those guys are both really quick, with good shots.
  12. Z MAC is definitely improving his consistency this year playing away from the puck. Similar to what Goldy was working on here. They like when he has the puck, but it is the details away from the puck which is like 90% of his time on the ice that Green wants to be rock solid. Those plays matter come playoff time a lot more.
  13. It's not an easy comparison to be honest. There just aren't many players that play there u19 year in the SuperElit that go on to have great NHL careers. Andreas Johnsson is probably the closest comparable to this point. Costmar will need to produce around .5 P/GP in the SHL next year to keep pace with his development track. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/43991/andreas-johnsson
  14. It's actually 21 points in 20 games played. The team has played 23, but he has only played in 20. 4th best P/GP for Rookies.
  15. If I had to choose who the wild card teams will be today I would say Nashville & Vegas. Who would you rather play? It's an easy Nashville for me.
  16. In my head if the player wants out, and he just turned 23, Melnyk will want something decent in return not just money. He can't sell we got real dollars back for this former 1st rounder to the fans. Goldobin and Baertschi for White might do it. If you're lucky and he takes Goldy and Eriksson, run with that. Maybe you can sign and trade Lockwood + Eriksson Maybe Linus Karlsson and Eriksson and then Dahlen trade goes full circle with SJ.
  17. I will put down some names for you guys to check into for late 2nd early 3rd: You can find details on some players here: https://dobberprospects.com/team/2020-nhl-draft/ Sam Colangelo Jan Mysak William Villeneuve Kasper Simontaival Jaromir Pytlik Helge Grans (Prob gone though) Topi Niemelä Donovan Sebrango Yan Kuznetsov Luke Evangelista Jack Finley Tyson Foerster Théo Rochette Brock Faber Dylan Peterson Parker Ford (Later round probably, turns 20 this year) Also this NHLe is interesting to look at: https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threads/2020-draft-nhle-rankings.2729969/
  18. Looks like there are about 10 games left for SKA before playoffs. Would love to see Podkolzin finish those last 10 with 5 additional points or so. It's kinda weird... The leading goal scorer for SKA only has 13 goals. Jori Lehtera. Looks like SKA will play either Torpedo, or Spartak in the 1st round of KHL playoffs.
  19. Did some quick math, and Pod's is scoring around 0.7 G/60 in the KHL. 1 Goal every 85 minutes or so. That works out to about 12 Goals over 82 games playing 12 mins a night. Not bad for an 18 year old. Basically if he was playing in the NHL this year 12 goals would be a good starting point on 140-160 shots. If Podkolzin can get 2-3 shots every 12 mins right now that is going to bode well for his production over time. EDIT: Actually it's better than I thought. He's only averaging 6:47 per game this year so. his total TOI is 128:57 That's 1 goal every 64:26. Playing 12 mins a night over 82 games at that rate is roughly 15-16 goals over 82 games.
  20. Gunnarwolfe Fonatine (79 by Button) Going to NorthEastern Sam Colangelo (33 for NA Skaters, 34 by Button) Going to NorthEastern Helge Grans (21 for EU Skaters, 56 by Button) 6'3 RH D man
  21. Honestly didn't even look before posting. Assumed it was Podkolzin lol. My brain is in the World Juniors thread, which is all threads for players in the WJC.
  22. If you want to compare and contrast Podkolzin and Virtanen. Virtanen Wins: Straight line speed One timer Velocity Snapshot Accuracy Hitting Podkolzin wins: Lateral Mobility Dekeing/Puck protection Passing Cycle Game Defensive coverage Overall creativity/deception If I was to describe Podkolzin he reminds me of J.T. Miller. Expect a creative passer who is great along the walls, and in front of the net with a heavy shot, above average speed and hands. Great battle level in all 3 zones, can sometimes try to do too much or be too cute with the puck. Has the ability to be a game breaker at times, with a bit of tunnel vision to the net.
